If he could do the 100m in 9" he'd be at the Olympics I reckon!

Last season Chris Woods did all right at Forest.
If you can read the game and are strong I think there is still a place. Plus the "modern" game seems to be moving back to a more direct way of playing now that might suit a more instinctive striker

I think the youth policy could be self-perpetuating.
If we pick up those late teen drop outs, like we have with Morgan and others and there are clear pathways to first team football then its more likely that we hold onto the younger local talent. Who hopefully are told my their parents/agents that it might be better off they stay at QPR for a while get 50+ apps under their belts before they move onto Fulham and Liverpool.

I guess even if we were Cat1 that would still happen, but its nice to dream.

Hopefully being in or around the playoffs won't trigger the club into handing out big contracts to attract players, as only one club goes up via the playoffs, so its still likely that at least three other teams have to spend another season in the Champ, if we learnt anything from that last push with Warburton its that season after that is hard work, as we end up with a few older pros, like Austin and Johanson who got weighed in and the rest of the squad might not be in the same position

If you took that attitude into the modern game, Danny would still be a top professional. Hopefully the massive team of sports scientists would be there to protect him.

I'm sure the great footballers of yesteryear would have been great in this modern game, as they would have adapted their lifestyle and training to suit the modern demands.

I remember watching a documentary, was it 'Horizon' where they talked to QPR players about improving their abilities through science. I remember Martin Allen happy to embrace new ideas, I'll try and find a link to it on YouTube

Pay as you play is a myth. I think the PFA would put a stop to that.
The closest thing that could happen is a low basic with everything weighted on appearances etc.
I think this is what was offered to Nedum after his legs had gone

he's 6'4" isn't he? He should dominate midfields with his size.
Def a confidence player, lets hope the corner is turned. As he is the only CM we have whose first thought is a forward pass

Makes you think what he could have been like if he'd given it 100%
Still he wasn't alone. Arsenal were notorious for their Tuesday club, whilst being pretty decent.
Although they got a lot better after Wenger joined and phased it all out

I thought Keegan tried to sack him at Man City because he was a p155 head and the PFA had to get involved. Apparently he cut the booze out and that coincided with an upturn in form

He seemed really down in that jokey video about the FIFA ratings cards.
The press guy was even telling him he has had a card every year before this...

I was thinking this before the game. Young legs would nullify his threat for sure.

They will be very quiet about the World Cup I reckon.
There is always the chance they could go out in the group stages without winning or scoring a goal etc.
Trump will be miles away from that scene

Might get spicy if they are drawn against a team from the Middle East, lets see if FIFA want to rig the groups to avoid this.

tbh with all this ICE nonsense I'd love to USA rattled by Mexico 7-0 ;D

I'd love to be proved wrong, but I don't think Illias has ever been as rapid as Burrell is, plus we don't know if these back to back injuries have taken any of his pace away.

I don't see them as interchangeable, but what do i know?
