Exactly. It's like when they chuck all the yoiung guys on together for England friendlies after 80 minutes of Kane, Foden, Saka and Bellingham. Much better to give each of them time in a largely settled team: a couple doing the first half and a different two for the second half. |

I agree. For instance he looked much better playing for England under Tuchel than Southgate. Bit more freedom maybe? Similarly he didn't look as good under Hodgson as the current Palace manager. |

What a putt from Justin. |

Blooming heck. They're all trying to lose this. |

Agreed. Also we aren't blessed with pace elsewhere in our squad to provide cover for Dickie. City may be more blessed. Also how they set up works better, I can't remember him having to chase back towards his own goal like he often had to for us. |

Definitely saw some improvements last two matches. Two assists in two matches isn't shabby and let's not forget how many corners we've seen this season hit the first defender. He's never going to be Roy Keane but he's shown more than EDB and Dozzell . Low bar I know but enough to not write him off. He's clearly been winning more headers/pressing more. I also think many players take a while to get back to speed after a long time not playing, e.g. Chair and Dembele. I don't think Marti wrote him off but rather took him out of the firing line like he has with Morgan, either because of poor form or off field stuff we don't know about. Willing to keep an open mind. |

Looking back at the highlights especially from a fan vlog based in Ellerslie Rd., their goal looks onside and it wasn't a pen. But he didn't book them for similar offences they booked Colback for in similar parts of the ground so was annoyed about that. Also agree we should put pressure on ref e.g. for foul throw that no-one was giving before we erupted. Other teams' fans win them a few extra free kicks and the odd booking per match I reckon. |

Harsh from some of you. He got an assist, did four key passes, won all four of his arial duels, made two clearances and a blocked shot, committed no fouls and pressed much more effectively. He's not Declan Rice quite yet but if he was any other player I think people would be saying he had a decent match. |

Best atmosphere for ages even before we scored. Kevin Gallen must've had his photo taken with most of the 1500... Singing practically all the way through to the obvious bemusement of the stewards. What a celebration at the end. Just brilliant! |

Derby could have a big influence at the bottom. They're playing Portsmouth, Luton, Hull and Stoke with only the WBA match not with both teams involved in the relegation dogfight. |

I'm not hankering after the Prem. Even the likes of Man U or Chels fans seem no happier than we are unless they're actually winning leagues and trophies. What I do hanker after is a bit of consistency combined with some golden moments. I want to be looking up the table rather than down. I want a few wins early doors. I want a season where our best players are available for selection most of the time. I'd like us to be in a position to be able to play our better players in cup games because we're safe and injury free. I'd like us to be able to try out our youngsters in games that aren't must-win. And I'd like a few thumping wins - 4-0 upwards - per season. I'd like a cup run to at least the fifth round and ideally further. Oh and I'd like Eze to go for tons of cash early in the summer so we're not having to sponsor the bog rolls. Not impossible but seems it most of the last few years. There's still lots to like. We have a decent fanbase with lots of nice people and a burgeoning youth section - the recent support for Dave Thomas and the Tiger Cubs being excellent recent examples. We have a decent Board who back us and aren't sectionable. We have an amazing training facility. I like our ground. We have remarkable media support given our size: Paul Morrissey, Tyler and Andy do tremendous jobs; then there's a lot of fan content - Clive and Dave obviously outstanding; Hoopsa and Open All Rs podcasts clearly; but there are a number of other YouTube channels producing interesting QPR content. So lots to admire but please no more circling the drain in November and March please??? |

I think you're right one win should be enough. Still concerned about where that's coming from though. |
 | Forum Reply | Probably in a minority of one, but here goes .. at 07:10 6 Apr 2025
I'm with you Dorse. Don't think anyone is saying we were great but I've seen way worse than that even this season. People saying it's the worse they've seen have obviously forgotten Blackpool 6 QPR 1 or that home loss against Rotherham when they hadn't won away all season. The first half showed how much we've missed someone who covers ground and wins the ball back - Field - and someone who can hold it up and take the ball up the pitch - Alfie. The difference when they went off was stark. As well as players on the pitch I think we dropped back in the second half and tried not to lose. That's a team on a losing run with no confidence. Clearly we need to improve still. It's not good enough. But better than Stoke in terms of effort. We'll have to better in the final third against Oxford to get anything though. So frustrating to lose Saito for these three matches when we already have no Chair and zero fit strikers. I'm still worried about where our points are coming from. |

Yep. He really helps to get us up the pitch plus acts as an auxiliary CD in the box when we're defending. We've had huge problems getting out of defence and too much distance between DM and attacking midfield, hence why Morgan hasn't played so well recently in my view. He is someone who links play and plays off people rather than dominating and carrying tthe ball forward. No Frey to hold the ball up/hassle defenders doesn't help. Hope he's back. |
