would anyone like to see bennie our top striker...
at 20:48 18 Aug 2025

We seem to have played him in most position's in his short time here.

Tbh, i would give him a go in goal. We need more cover there currently than up top.

Think given the opportunities, he could do well !!

Harvey Vale: The answer to our problems?
at 13:45 18 Aug 2025

Chelsea Academy Players of the Year Awards:

Year Winner
2015 Dominic Solanke
2016 Fikayo Tomori
2017 Mason Mount
2018 Reece James
2019 Conor Gallagher
2020 Billy Gilmour
2021 Tino Livramento
2022 Harvey Vale
2023 Lewis Hall
2024 Alfie Gilchrist

Appreciate it's the Chelsea list but to achieve young player of the year at Chelsea, generally you could say you have a fighters chance of making it to a considerably higher level in the professional game.

Think Vale could surprise and be along the lines of the success that Kieran Morgan has surprised us all by.

Think Harvey could progress nicely, all being well...

Kelman watch...
at 13:23 18 Aug 2025

Shame it's not happening for him, as yet.

I hope he does well, apart from against ourselves.

Can understand why he didn't want to be here. Was never given a chance.

And was peed off ,when we sold him, but in hindsight, a swap of Kone and Burrell for Kelman definitely in our favour.

Hope our guys can step up for us now.

What was it - a sixty page thread full of nonsense from all of us, and in the end, it was all completely irrelevant.

Thus was ever the fate of many a "loftforwords" forum poster - Total Irrelevance !!

Agree.

An absolute block buster of a goal.

If the powers that be, put the current use of VAR to a vote, to players, management and fans alike, do you think VAR would receive a landslide defeat.

I think most prefer to go back to the referees decision is final.

Yes they get it wrong sometimes, but things even out generally.

The length of time VAR takes and the way it is used. Its dreadful.

Just imagine Ilias scoring a free kick like that in a big game, only for after several minutes of adjudication, its taken away for very random reasons.

Its ruining games. I just hope in its present set up, the football league veto it...

Crikey cant believe, some of the comments here.

To be questioning Stephan already is madness
Sorry

If we held on, against Plymouth to pens and got the draw our second half warranted yesterday, would people be thinking still Stephan not for us.

Glad some of yous, not my line manager !!!

Was meant to be a "tongue placed in cheek" response but having read again, could see it could come across, otherwise.

So, apologies.

QPR Criticized For Messing Around German Club
at 02:04 17 Aug 2025

I guess we would not have acted this way, if this was Spurs we were dealing with and not Schalke.

Ie long term relationship to think about, ie possible academy or loan players from them.

The only thing this scenario, will have done, is we are unlikely to have Schalke as a potential feeder club to ourselves.

Hey ho. It's business ultimately !!

Right place for him to further his career, and put himself, more in the shop window for his international exploits.

Get it done, please Mr Levy and then we can spend some of our extra pocket money !!!

Madsen and Field midfield
at 01:43 17 Aug 2025

The thing is in recent times Belk if he has been with Nourry key for recruitment, then he has overseen the following.

Mbengue, Morrison, Akindileni, Esquerdinha, Varane, Vale, Poku, Dembele, Burrell and Kone.

All have potential or have already proved their worth.

Madsen, Celar and Santos have not worked out.

So for me, that's a good enough hit rate for a club of our means.

It's kind of frustrating that the two highest in terms of transfer costs, have shown to be the most underwhelming.

I would think both Madsen and Celar are being touted for clubs in middle or northern Europe, where they can start afresh and where their styles of play, can be more appreciated.

I only reserve personal attacks for Stainrod, which is weird and also inappropriate but there is just something about the boy !!!!!!

He can start as many threads as he wishes. Just my view, this particular one is potentially highlighting the young man's inner Heinrich.....

Apologies to any German R's out there....

Just back - Watford reflections
at 01:22 17 Aug 2025

Mbuenge we are led to believe is better on the right side, so he could have covered right back.

Morgan could have taken Madsens place in the middle and if he was unsure as to playing Esquerdinha from the start , could have had Harvey Vale in at left back today, perhaps.

Dembele had a poor game today for me. Smith also was a strange choice from the start, as he hasn't had much football recently either. Varane will be a big tick, coming back though.

Also, shout out for Kolli today as he was a presence today and performed well...

Someone on here, has written that Burrell is giving Sinclair Armstrong vibes - WOW !!

Three games in......

Regarding a settled team by now Nix.

Yes, we have had injuries, but what I would say which is not just us, but across the board, there is still two weeks of the summer transfer window left.

And also, especially with ourselves, despite what Nourry may or may not have said, Eze is "finally" looking like he could be on his way in the next few days and if so, we will have a significant boost to our treasure chest and this could therefore significantly change who we may try to sign in the last few days of the window.

Would say there is an argument that the window should close prior to the first game of the season, but it is as it is currently, and because of this, we may have one or two incoming, who potentially might be seen as first eleven regulars. Think left back for definite, inbound guess at least....

Said triumphantly by Elbow. Well arent you a clever Trevor.....

Should you not go back and post back on the Chelsea FC Forums, where you belong.

You will find many like minded individuals there. You, so often feel unwelcome here. Go back to your spiritual home Sir, please, if you could be so kind.

Freud and Jung are waiting for you there !!!!

Decent fight back. Second half. Didnt quite go for us.

Think we did enough for a draw, which could have happened.

Few more players coming back into the team. With two possibly three more additions, we could do well.

Two sloppy goals conceded and there goes the game.

Points i saw.

Esquerdinha made a difference as did Kolli.

Burrell and Kone both showed flashes of what they could give for our team.

Good to see Varane back too.

We.definitely need a left back in, Mbuengue there is not going to be an option.

Its disappointing with Madsen today but hate all the nonsense blaming him for world peace not breaking out. What people wont pick up on though is Varane gave the ball away twice on edge of his box that led.to clean strikes on goal. If that had been Madsen the usual culprits would have reared up again.....

But lots of green shoots and a couple of weeks of the window to add a few more touches, all being well.

Despite the loss, was pleased and think we can build from here with several more first team players coming back in.

And WOW - a whole match without any injuries kicking in !!!

The hate and blaming totally for conceding both goals is ridiculous

Some comments on here ie the seasons gone is pathetic

Get behind your team people

We are one goal down away from home at a club that for long periods were in play off contention last season and we not got any full backs.

This forum is very poor, at times.

You total plum

Blame everything on Madsen.

Its the defence thats wide open thats the problem.

However we have no full backs playing and our best goalkeeper is out on loan.

But yes all Madsens fault clearly
