Dunne is our RB, with limited cover in that position Cook is cooked / legs are gone. Not sure what JCS - is that a boy band?
Leaves us 3 centre backs. Still don't believe the Ronnie speculation but I do think another centre back is going to be needed given our dreadful injury record.
You're a brilliant writer Clive, but you're also a leader for many of us. When you're ready we need your skills to oust this jumped-up, under qualified, sneaky little posh tw@t. This club is our community asset, we need to fight for it. For now, have a break and prioritise your health and happiness.
BBC website has us 4 2 3 1 Morgan RB Field and Madsen two man midfield. Good luck Sammy lad you're in for some running. Here's hoping PNE don't turn up Good luck lads
Brilliant writing. Still the best thing about supporting QPR, thanks Clive
Am so nervous about today. My heart has a hunch we could come out flying and our pacy attackers tear them one. My head then reminds me to look at the squad list, and the injuries, and I fear we could have another opening day shocker.
Your point about the spine so true. We're without Nardi, Jimmy, Cook, Varane, Frey. This new coach might need to be a genuine miracle worker.
Not sure I get all of the enthusiasm today on here about Kelman exit. I'm really dissapointed, as I was very much looking forward to seeing him play for us this season. The replacement looks inferior on paper. Claiming Nourry has done "great business" - hmm. No, great business would have been getting him to sign a longer contract sooner, seeing him do well for us this season, and then getting a decent sized fee. £3M is peanuts. Folks saying he wanted to leave - we don't know that - we're all in the dark. It says he refused to sign, maybe he was told he wasn't first choice, or offered a shite extension? Yep, we don't know.
We will see what happens but I feel a bit gutted. Here we are desperate for a striker who can bag goals and just let one go for the same price as that useless fecker Celar
Thanks Clive great listen Kevin Betsy spoke so well, great examples of impact he's made with his role. Have to say it left me feeling like the club is being well run, which is what we all want.
I know he hit the post earlier but Celar boils my piss. No presence, no effort, not putting a single challenge in. Goes up for no headers. Not making runs. Rest playing OK, and certainly working hard. A professional athlete hwo doesn't put in the effort, if I was his skipper I'd be tearing him a new one
PS now watch him score :) hope he doesn't take the pen...
Some other threads have touched on this, but would to dig deeper, apologies if done so already (couldn't find one)
I've read about the club putting in place a common system from youth to adult teams. Makes sense, especially an ethos and way of playing. But does it also lock us into playing 4-2-3-1 all the time?
Putting aside my personal hatred of a single person upfront and no wingers, there's 3 reasons I think this is nuts...
1) You're reliant on a position you can't afford. A striker who is big, holds it up, has pace, can finish. There are none, and if there are we can't afford them. Look at the problems Man U are having.
2) It's predictable - makes it easy for the opposition. Whereas if you mix it up you can surprise them, as I think we did vs Sunderland last game
3) You don't maximise the players you have at that time. As WWC said we have no fullbacks so maybe look at 3-5-2
