Barker found it hard at the beginning as was shunted to right back early in his career here
I don’t think Francis really fancied him and it was only when Gentleman Don Howe took over did he start finding his feet |

If the idea is to play a modified 4-4-2 then I don’t see how he gets in the team , we have Smyth , Koki, Vale , Poku who play wide and are much better wingers than him, Dembele is more of a “10”
It was noticeable the lack of service Kone & Frey got the other night , Kone especially was getting the hump |

If your going to play Kone & Frey together which btw I think is a good idea then you need to get service into them , first time crosses etc , they had no service at all through the first half, imo the game was crying out for Smyth to start , quite what Dembele brings to this formation is another story |

Sorry I don’t agree with that at all , Morrison is streets ahead of JCS , he reads the game so well and goes about the place like he isn’t there , a real class act he is the partner Mbengue needs
I also think Morrison could cut it in the premier league he is that good also the club should be looking to pay up JCS or look to come to an agreement imo as he is no good to us being injured all the time |

The difference this season is power & pace something we have lacked for years
Fair play to the scouting team & DOF they have done really well with the budget given to them, no longer are we buying injury prone players, we are playing lads who have a hunger to go up to the next level , make the most of Kone whilst he is he as he won’t be here long
With Poku to comeback and saito being the main man I cannot see how Chair comes back into this side |

The difference we have is pace and power something we have neglected to look at for years
As well as up and conning players from the leagues below
Celar vs Kone is night and day as signings
If we can get Poku fit then we have some options imo
I still would like to see Kone & Frey up top together as I think they could be a real handful
Fair play to the management team and staff for lifting the players after that Coventry game |
