What a disastrous April and we are only 8 days in. The new owners have been given a free pass so far given the investments they have made….but the club is in disarray….cant host a crowd of 6000, thrown away the great opportunity of a big finish, wembley dates etc. and two more years of the manager. Its OK the new CEO saying what plans are for improvements next year….none of this should have happened this year. And I think we know we wont be starting with a clean sheet next season. Another year of the McNulty and Greg show. |

conceding after 80 minute mark again. We should switch to rugby. No tired legs for Spennymoor though. We could be playing them in the league next season. |

What was it this week, the pitch, the budget….. Did he think we got what we paid for? Desperately need to rebound with a win at Sutton….feeling sorry for ourselves wont do it. |

looks like he is already up to his tricks…….oldham rugby switching some games to Friday nights andconsidering a full scale switch next season, .in a league were players are part time and must get time off work to play. Got his fingerprints all over this. Some of the season ticket holders apoplectic as are the out of town supporters. Negotiating the M62 on Friday nights wont enamour them to away supporters either. No doubt it will all end in (his) tears. They cant say they weren’t warned. |

Closest I can find is drawing 6 of the first 7 away games in the 68-69 promotion season. The other game was a 2-0 loss at champions to be Doncaster. |

reminds of that scene in the Mike Bassett film where they put the entire England squad through a ‘science’ based programme. |

He has had more resources than some of the managers in the sixties late seventies and eighties….and bigger crowds. What those blokes had to work with, and still managed to keep us in the football league puts McN’s record (i wont call it achievements) into perspective. He is manager of a club with a full time playing squad and not insubstantial administration in a league with several clubs of part and has the audacity to blame his budget. |

While on paper we have dropped eight of the last nine points in reality the large margin of defeats have whittled away what was an outstanding goal difference, in effect an extra point. It is still bigger than most teams around us but not by much…one or two more shellackings and we would be a further point down in essence. If only we had Yorks budget all would be well! |

York were W2D1L2 with 5 goals scored and conceded in March before this game. If McN believes what he spouts about you get what you pay for then how come Braintree managed to beat them? He never accepts any responsibility for poor performances and results instead relying on that list of excuses. Perhaps the fans should check on Aldershots budget before turning up on Saturday. And its obviously a forgone conclusion that we will make wembley because you get what you pay for. |

"Total options" it is then in two weeks time? I am still not convinced it will happen unless that contract has break clauses...but highly unlikely any break clauses would cover the current situation (just missing play offs, just missing wembley final...should they happen) I think he is here for the forseeable future. |

That was a remarkable run that ended with us top of division 3. Big Reg and Dennis Butler each scored 7 goals in that run of games. Looked like the run was coming to an end in the Reading game when we went 2-0 down. comeback topped off by Derek Ryders only goal for the Dale in 185 games he played. The run ended at Halifax where we lost 3-1 but we beat Mansfield in our next home game to make it 5 home wins on the trot. The Mansfield game was our 10th home game and brought the total attendance to over 76000. No wonder Bryan Adams sang that the year of 69 was “ the best year of my life” |

Semi final draw on Monday. Hope we can avoid a long trip south. Another league game to rearrange…not that I am complaining! |

The fact that unproven and inexperienced McNulty was given a 3 year contract on their watch indicates they are on a steep learning curve…and not far up it. |
 | Forum Reply | Sack McNulty at 23:57 22 Feb 2025
Giving him a three year contract must go down as one of the worst decisions this club has ever made. I hope there are clauses in it giving the board total options...otherwise it will cost to get rid of him. Another lesson learned by the Ogdens. |

correct….it was the only away loss in the first 9 away games that season and Docaster went up as champions. His hat trick v brighton was in the first game after the coventry FACup victory. |

Yes, he came into the first team in the 67-8 team but lost his place in the team when Leech was signed. Played one game in the promotion season. Then a regular after Leechs career ending injury. |
