Hardly a “disaster” - it was a first round Carabao cup game!
The line up was disappointing and I don’t necessarily agree with it - but if it’s proved that some of these kids aren’t good enough then it’s achieved something. At least we can stop kidding ourselves our development squad is full of future first team players, because it’s not. |

Very very quick. Kept their defenders busy all half. Stretched the pitch well and looked to pounce on any loose ball.
If he can add some more composure to his end product I think we could have a good’un on our hands! |

On ability Nardi should start, but I understand the clubs thought process on giving a young keeper plenty of game time. I’d have been happier with Walsh going on loan and Solomon as sub keeper this season though. |

It was the most frustrating thing about yesterday and at the Brentford game. Absolutely no movement at all. Really felt bad for Esquerdinha having to take throws on his debut to statues. |

As far as season openers go I thought we did okay.
First half was really good, looked very comfortable. Second half was a disappointment but the players were gutted after conceding their equaliser. Mentality still needs work.
Nobody had a bad game - which is good given Morgan was out of position, Walsh is inexperienced, and the Brazilian lad surprisingly started.
Centre backs both looked solid, Field had an off day but we know he’s key, all the wingers and Chair worked hard and had good moments.
Disappointed with the result as on balance we were the better team, but Preston don’t draw 20+ games a season because they’re a poor team - they know how to take advantage of the dark arts and we don’t |

A standard 5/10 performance
A lot of people just want to slate the guy because of last season, nothing to do with yesterday
He had some nice touches, almost won a penalty or two, but equally was slow to react in the box and looked a little laboured |

To put it simply, he’s not good enough.
And worse than that, he’s unreliable and actually undoes the hard work of his team mates by giving the ball away constantly, and messing about trying tricks that put us in trouble.
He’s not a kid, he’s 23. 4-5 years older than the likes of Lloyd, Kolli and Morgan.
He’s also not ours. He’s here on loan from a premiership club.
I don’t know if we can even send him back, it’s not always an option, but I get the feeling Marti is done with the guy and we may not see him again. |

He took a knock but there’s no way anyone else would have been subbed in that same situation.
It was just a your usual mistimed challenge he would have run off after 30 seconds.
He was absolutely woeful - must have given the ball away every single time |
