Madsen and Varane are not mobile and are easy to play around. They don't win many second balls. Varane can be sloppy and gets caught in possession to often. Madsen is always available when we are in possession, and can play a nice pass forward, so he does offer a little more. So I feel we need a more mobile and dynamic pairing with energy. |

For me the problem is more wide spread than just the keeper. I think we are lacking 2 championship quality center backs, I would take Cooper over what we have, he does exactly what I expect of a center back. He wins most headers, defends well and marshals the defence well. Yes he can't come out with the ball, but that for me is a luxury in the championship. Also the center mid seems to be a problem, Madsen and Varane are not mobile, Millwall had that in spades winning nearly every second ball, and they are not the only team to do that against us. We have good flair players out wide, but I think you win matches if you win the midfield. |

I hope you are right on this.
Last nights pairing of Field and Hayden was so negative, there is no creativity in either of them. While the recruitment this season was good, they didn't address the lack of creativity in the midfield area, either at No. 6 or No. 8. Madsen is coming on, but I'm not convinced with him as yet. |

I'm not convinced by this, players can't play 3 games a week attitude. The more you tell them that, the more they will believe it. The old saying is don't change a winning team, unless forced to. He made 5 changes last night, would he have done that if we were playing Middlesbrough ?
That shows a lack of respect to Oxford. |
