Bad enough with Beckham but now all you have to do is host Strictly come Dancing ! Awarded not for charitable work but for “ Services to Broadcasting”in other words doing your job and being paid handsomely from licence payers money. Not forgetting of course that playing darts now appears to qualify also. [Post edited 14 Jun 12:29]

Don’t forget Walker Pat, another player in the twilight of his career who like Henderson should be nowhere near an England squad, let alone picked to play. We won the World Cup with a player like Alan Ball in the team at age eighteen, now we are giving games to players nearly twice his age. Not difficult to see why we haven’t won a major tournament for nearly sixty years is it ? |

Don’t get too stressed Chesham because Wayne Rooney is next in line after Beckham, for his services to old grannies, football management, football commentary and Greggs the Bakers. |

Just another reason to abandon the whole honours system which has no place whatsoever in a modern society. One stood up grown man touching another kneeling grown man on the shoulder with a sword. Much the same as the Knight of the Garter ceremony when grown men and women parade around Windsor dressed in cloaks and hats with feathers in or the state opening of parliament when a man’s jewelled hat is carried around London in it’s own Rolls Royce. Not forgetting of course the coronation when a grown man, hidden behind a screen, has his breasts rubbed with oil by another grown man wearing a pointed hat. [Post edited 6 Jun 17:54]

Who knows, perhaps he won’t make Rangers play in the same way as he did with us ? All ways round, not a bad career move given if we had stuck with him he would be back managing in The Championship next season. |

And you believe what you are told Nick ? |
 | Forum Reply | Quarshie or Quasie at 13:20 29 May 2025
Not forgetting of course Kevin Danso, who Ralph thought it a good idea to play at full back for one game only, before hooking him off at half time never to be heard of again until playing for Tottenham and Germany. |

For all contributors to Nick’s site. It’s an appropriate time to remind everyone that given that this incident may well be the subject of a criminal investigation there are very strict rules limiting people’s ability to express their written opinions. In the circumstances it’s probably best to write nothing. |
 | Forum Thread | What happens to Rusk and Lallana now ? at 08:37 26 May 2025
Given that it appears Mr Still may well be bringing half his family with him ( his two brothers ) will Sports Republic create a position for Simon and Adam or will they be part of inevitable staff cuts at St Mary’s caused by our second relegation in three years ? |

Who is surprised any more? Such ridiculous decisions are endemic throughout the club’s structure from top to bottom. It starts with the owners who appoint Sports Republics hapless employees and their cluelessness then filters down through to the players via a succession of incompetent managers. Result ? The worst season in the whole history of the club. Anyone who thinks that a thirty something new manager who’s never played professional football or managed in the U K, let alone The Championship, will put it right is deluding themselves in my opinion. |
 | Forum Thread | Just to remind us all how dreadful they have been all season. at 18:20 25 May 2025
Rinse and repeat again. Another game thrown away yet again at the last knockings. Nothing if not consistent I suppose. And another record. The first team ever to lose thirty games out of thirty eight in The Premier League. Thanks Sports Republic. You’ve made being totally inept into an art form. |

Haven’t heard from you for some time I would, welcome back. Not 100% certain but I think Ward Prowse scored for West Ham today ? |

Near enough all those who will be leaving in the close season omitted. Some with genuine injuries others to protect them from the same. Silver lining being that whatever the result,we probably now won’t have to witness Dibling pretending that he’s interested in being a professional footballer ever again. |
 | Forum Reply | Saints Managerial Appointments That the Fans Have Welcomed at 21:49 24 May 2025
Nail on head Southamptonfan. Another cheap as chips Sports Republic appointment to add to their ever increasing list of managerial failures. Honestly, when the going gets tough what self respecting professional footballer is going to take a blind bit of notice of a thirty something who has never managed in Britain or played football at any professional level. Saints fans gullibility and acceptance of second best never ceases to amaze me and that’s probably why we have only won a single major trophy since 1885. |

Koeman, Ball, Strachan, Souness or Still. Hmm, now thats a really difficult decision. [Post edited 24 May 18:01]

We can all thank our owners and the doughnuts they employ at Sports Republic for throwing away a golden opportunity to stay where we belong, in the top flight. I’ve a feeling another opportunity is going to be a long time coming. Interestingly and according to an article in The Guardian today, Sheffield Utd have failed to win all of their previous four attempts to win a playoff final. |
