Could Jack Stephens actually be correct ?
at 23:55 4 Oct 2025

If the rumour earlier in the week that the senior professional at an underperforming Championship team approached the Club’s Chairman to complain at the lack of progress was Jack, should we be surprised ?

If it was him I don’t condone his behaviour in any way and he certainly isn’t the best player in the world but I think it safe to say that he currently is well placed to see what’s going wrong.

If most of us supporters don’t have a clue as to Still’s game plan or substitutions perhaps the players are similarly frustrated and confused and asked him to make an approach on their behalf ?

Suspected Ham String injury requiring a scan apparently.

With his previous injury record I imagine we won’t see him again until Christmas.

Never mind, I’m sure Damion Downes will take his place 🤦‍♂️

“ Of course I could be wrong”

I would be absolutely delighted to tell you that you are wrong but all the evidence suggests that you aren’t.

You and I called it from the moment he was appointed:-

1. He’s young.
2. He’s never played professional football.
3. He’s never managed a club in any UK league.

His biggest problem though is that he was daft enough to apply for and accept an opportunity with Sports Republic.

Unfortunately for him I expect that he will soon be gone.

Unfortunately for us I expect that Sports Republic won’t be.

According to the Echo, Robinson not selected is purely “ rotation “ whatever that may mean.

Appears odd that he’s not even a substitute given that arguably he’s our most gifted player.

Even more surprising given that there is a place for Damion Downes who clearly isn’t very gifted.

It’s not as though St Mary’s has a capacity three times bigger than Dean Court ( or whatever they call it nowadays ) though is it Mr Parsons ?

Me thinks he would perhaps have been better suited to selling vacuum cleaners ?

Hypocrisy of the highest order or genuine concern?

“ some Labour supporters on here should take a look at what Reform really are about before commenting again “

I’ve looked at all the comments and can find no evidence that suggests that those commenting are Labour supporters Bazza. In fact in one case exactly the opposite.

In any event even, if they were, surely you wouldn’t want to stop them expressing their point of view would you ?

Should they ever get into a position of National Power and deport people who have lived here for years, I wonder if they will refund to them all of the Tax and National Insurance that they have paid whilst working in the UK ?

Farage and his cronies are what are known as Barack Room Lawyers, great at identifying problems but without any sensible ideas as to solutions.

Come the next General Election when most people switch on to politics and Reforms policies are exposed to proper detailed scrutiny they will melt like snow in the spring sunshine.

Makes us all realise that while our football team may presently be in a less than optimal position, living in such a beautiful part of the world has its compensations.

One of my favourites. The ford at Moyles Court watching the ponies drink water and the close by Alice Lyle Pub. Some Second World War history available at nearby Ibsley with its now redundant airfield and a thought provoking memorial to those who made the supreme sacrifice, including some pilots from the U S A who answered the call.

Mystery Championship club in turmoil
at 18:10 28 Sep 2025

Frankly, I thought that Still was the wrong appointment from day one but if there is any truth in this rumour Stephens ( or any other of our players ) should be ashamed of himself.

Tens of thousands of pounds a week and moaning to the Chairman, what on earth is a matter with these people ?

If it is S F C, despite my reservations concerning his appointment I hope Still sticks at it and teaches them that no player is ever bigger than the club.

Team today

Lose today and we will be four wins and a draw behind Middlesbrough.

Today is a defining game in the season and it’s not even October.

Mccarthy has to play despite his error on Tuesday simply because he can stop shots and doesn’t look like a rabbit in the headlights.

Adam Armstrong also to start as he appeared to be returning to form during the week.

No Damion Downes even on the bench please.

BBC headline: Meet the history making astronauts who are bound for the moon.
at 14:32 26 Sep 2025

I met and had a short chat with Buzz Aldrin a good few years back at the Goodwood Revival Meeting.

He was wandering around alone carrying a clip board whilst judging the best aeroplane competition.

There was no “ edge” to him whatsoever, if anything he was a little self effacing.

To this day every time I look at the moon I find it strange to comprehend that I’ve spoken to someone who has actually stood there.

Only Sports Republic could replace Tall Pall with Damion Downes.
at 10:53 24 Sep 2025

Damion Downes, the man who makes Tall Paul look like Dennis Bergkamp.

And to think it probably cost them money to do it !

Honestly, what exactly did he do after coming on this evening ?

No enthusiasm, half paced, didn’t tackle and couldn’t head or hold a ball up.

All our other players can see he is utterly useless and didn’t even want to lose possession by attempting to pass to him.

Like playing with ten men.

Another crackerjack waste of £7 million by Sports Republic’s so called recruitment team.

So, the statistics are wrong, I’m wrong, Starmer is wrong and Farage also.

Interesting theory if nothing else.

How many more times is it necessary to remind people that in 2024 for every one asylum seeking “boat person” thirteen immigrants entered the UK legally ?

I’m personally agnostic on the whole subject but just can’t understand why people who want to “ go after” boat people, presumably because the think all immigration is wrong, just completely fail to see the bigger picture.
