Madsen on today's draw
at 10:26 29 Sep 2025

I think the most important thing is, he is improving. He has a manager who can see what he offers offensively. Probably the best at seeing what is on and what pass is required. Creates space with a simple first time pass etc. I liked that he went and took the ball for the penalty, showed responsibility and showed some passion when he scored it. It was also noticeable, more so after he scored that he was a lot more vocal with other players.

I really think he has a manager who understands his positives, but also his limitations. Let him grow in the side and hopefully he will work on his limitations.

I don't think he is the sort of player who will have a showreel each game, but there are little things he does each game that set up attacks, that only he can do

Let me a guess, a certain poster came back with something, because the moment someone says anything about putting annoying people on ignore, they automictically assume it is about them lol

Who misses out - best team v best plan
at 11:22 23 Sep 2025

I think there will be a small core group of players that play most of the games, but then some players will be picked based on the opposition. We actually have some depth now so hopefully that will keep people on their toes. I think this can work if you have a clear understanding of what is required of you in your role, patterns of play etc. I get the feeling under JS the players know what their role is on a given day.

Yeah sorry about that, hadn't had my morning coffee. I read it the other day and didn't read the caption at the start of the thread that highlighted it lol

Who misses out - best team v best plan
at 09:46 23 Sep 2025

I really don't think there will be a starting 11 anymore that play week in and week out. I think there will be a handful of players that start every week but then the rest of the team is made up of players based on who we are playing. Kone starts every week and for the moment Burrell does too. However, I think once Poku is fit, he might come in for Burrell. Poku is quick too and I think him and Kone will build a partnership. It will also be good to have Burrell's pace as an option off the bench. I think at the back Mbengue starts most weeks, when he doesn't have a suspension. His pace will allow us to push up more. I can't remember what sort of pace JCS has but I know he always had good positional sense which helped. Despite that I don't see him getting back in as an automatic currently.

Chair is an interesting one. In all his time at the club he has never really played with a proper centre forward, apart from Austin's second spell. Also, he has always been the 'main man' who felt he had to do everything, which I think contributed to him holding the ball up etc. The talent he has, I would love to see him in this team and to see if he can adapt his game to what JS wants. Sadly, although in a good way I don't think we are dependent on him now and if he is a square peg in a round hole, then we cash in to improve the squad. What this does allow though, is to bring him back in slowly. No rushing back because we need him, slowly build up his fitness and strength, so he doesn't break down again.

It's a weird one. I like it but sometimes think it's a bit over the top. If I saw the opposing team doing this with their fans at the end of the game, I would be thinking 'hang on lad, you haven't won the league or anything' at the same time though it is a way of building a connection with the fans again. Getting the fans behind the team and making Loftus Road a difficult place to play at again. I like when he puts a tackle in or runs up the line the other week and gestures to the crowd.

I think I read on that twitter (oh sorry X) feed, that someone said it's not the QPR way. Well, where has the QPR way got us over the last few years. Time for something a bit different, and he certainly is different

Saw this too. One in particular in the second half, more on the left hand side. Might have been to Saito. Simple first time pass, no more than 10 yards but took about 4 players out the game and gave us the momentum

Thought he was good today. Thought defensively he put a proper shift in. Number of times with a simple first time pass or simple 10 yard pass taken early, he creates space and momentum for the team. Thought he took the leadership role in that midfield with Varane on the pitch.

Is Saito a future 10?

I have said this on a couple of threads. I like how Vale seems to know what pass is needed and when to do it. I thought he was a lot smaller when he first joined, but it looks like he has a bit of stature to him. I noticed he tracks back too. He may not be the quickest, but it really looks like he has a proper football brain on him and will tend to be in the right position. I just don't know if he can put a tackle in when needed. I know in a lower league loan he was played as a wing back and did well, but that was lower league

I said this in the comments section of the match report. Wrexham are a bit like us when we had a bit of money. They are just throwing it around. I don't think they have any real football people behinds the scenes. I mean, they have Shaun Harvey there. They were always going to rocket through the lower leagues. They were buying players from at least a league or two higher. Parkinson isn't a good manager but in the lower leagues with the resources they had, it would have been criminal if they didn't go up. I think the Championship is where they come a bit unstuck. They have a lot of teams who can spend like them, and Parkinson isn't good enough for this league. Personally, I think they might go back down or at least struggle. Now watch them get promotion lol

How did Madsen play yesterday?
at 15:33 14 Sep 2025

Hi Gazza. I can tell from your posts that you do have some knowledge of football even if you feel the need to put down others who you feel don't. On a serious note though, did you play or coach at some sort of level. Genuinely curious

If the team/club are looking for a progressive 8,whatever that his lol. I think he could be the answer. Did his defensive work well today. Not the quickest but understands how to find space and is always moving

Hi Clive. Thanks for taking the time to do that. I apologise if you have already said this somewhere, but as the person who was sat facing him, how did he come across to you? After you walked away from the interview, what were your impressions of the manager?

Wow. A fly on the wall as well as a c***. Someone can multitask. Also no 't' in that little C word. If your mind is gravitating towards other options, maybe you are subconsciously aware you are acting like one

I think Madsen is a very cultured player. Understands a lot of the time what pass is required and how to execute it. His head level pass that he pinged to Smyth was great. It was also good to see him covering his teammates and also using some physicality. I think there are still too many moments currently where the intensity drops. A silly or lazy pass. There was a moment yesterday where there was a Charlton player between him and our defender. I think he tried to play it through his legs, gave the ball to him and they broke on us. Yes any player can do that but it was something I remembered. If he can go in with the mindset that he is going to influence the game and for want of a better phrase, take it by the scuff of the neck, then I think with his technical ability he can do that. Maybe a confidence thing, but when its getting tough, demand the ball as he has the ability to get us playing again, rather than hide from it.

At no point have I called you a c**t.i put c***. You filled in the blanks and came up with that. Obviously if you went to that, that on you or it just from experience

Also what you hear are peoples opinion just like yours is an opinion. What makes you think yours has more weight behind it than anyone else's. Did you do really well on football manager?

Well actually I don't remember seeing the ts and a at the end of word. So you must have added that from past experience. Uneducated. Yeah ok cherub. The truly enlightened or educated can accept that there can be different opinions related to the same topic. They can give value to the conversation by sharing the view but also acknowledging the views of others. Or they can insult the majority who they feel don't agree with them and come across as superior. Sadly you took the latter, on a day when people should be happy for a much needed victory. I'll leave you to get ready for your call with Pep before their game tomorrow, oh football sage

It's such a shame that after a reasonably good performance and well needed victory not just for the players and club but also the fanbase, that one insecure little man feels need to tell everyone how clever he thinks he is. When in that all he has shown us is what a c*** he is. All because some dare have a different opinion.
