 | Forum Reply | Chair for No.10 at 16:12 23 Oct 2025
What I really liked, and I think contributed to how well he did. He didn't hold on to the ball too long. Short little passes, linking up with others. If we get that Chair back in the team then him behind Kone, with Saito and one other would be very interesting. I still think you could maybe have Burrell coming more from the right. He could help start closing down defenders and look to come into the middle and rotate with Chair |

Varane is till so inconsistent. Not just from game to game but within games. Will do something good then the very next thing is to either pass the ball to the opposition or get caught in 2 minds and get tackled. We just need a bit of consistency in there. Hayden or Field in with Madsen. Madsen will make up for Hayden or Field's lack of progressing the ball but at least they are consistent. I wouldn't mind seeing Hayden and Madsen together. Hayden will bring stability and consistency during the game and allow Madsen to progress the ball more |

Well you aren't really. Your total lack of self-awareness, your rudeness to other posters who dare have a different view to you. The way you act the victim when either called out on it, or people treat you the way you treat them. Either you aren't aware of how you present yourself, or worse still you are. Either way I pity you, little man |

He is very quick for a footballer but in terms as athletics, I think you might find he is nothing special. What he needs is a former striker or a coach to work with him 121. Work on touch, movement etc. Develop his game. It's a bit like Kyle Walker. He never really worked on positioning or defending as he had his pace. Once his pace started to go, he ended up at Burnley. Having pace should be your x factor not your only thing. It's what makes you stand out from the rest. The strikers that got to any decent level but lacked paced made up for it with the football brain and other attributes. It might be lazy on his part or coaches he has had before. He/them may have thought his physical attributes were enough. He is still young; he can still have a career. He just needs to do some proper growing up and work on other areas. |
 | Forum Reply | Kone - too slow to go? at 11:03 7 Oct 2025
He seems to be quite a unit and I don't think he is up to full sharpness yet. I think that will come. Although not the quickest, his positional sense and movement get him into good positions so not having all out pace doesn't matter in this league. He is also very strong and once on the ball you aren't getting him off easily which again helps. Sometimes his first touch is wanting but I always thought that once he has the ball at his feet, he has good close control, which allows him to get half a yard |

That's the problem though isn't it. You won't go your way and let someone goe theirs. You'll go on and on, arguing your point. Insulting people with each additional post. Feeling the need, to try and show of your perceived intelligence. Then when that doesn't work, your start anew post that just tries to argue a precious point more. People will get annoyed, retaliate with the same tone of reply they get from you and then you will play the victim. It's interesting that you feel the need to try and show how clever you think you are constantly. Sadly you lack emotional intelligence and seem to have a true lack of being able to connect with people. Your words on here constantly alienate yourselves. Many in here disagree with others, and yet don't cause the same level of hostitily. I pity you [Post edited 5 Oct 16:39]

So good to have the Steve Cook we all know back. Wouldn't mind seeing him with Mbengue. His pace and Cooks leadership. Might actually help Mbengue be less nuts too lol |

Bug Championship budget? Are you sure? He spent his time having to lower are salary outgoings due to previous over spend. One season we spent £60k on transfers. Not exactly a big budget? Now I accept that Les was learning on the job and some of his things didn't work and some did. However saying big budget is just wrong |

Made the most tackles today and seems to being trying to physically impose himself. For a guy who looked as though the effort wasn't there, especially defensively. He is working so well in a two. Just need Varane to be mire consistent. He'll do something really good, then immediately have a brain fart. They work well together though |
 | Forum Reply | Dembele at 15:47 2 Oct 2025
At the moment I would have him as an impact sub. Up against defenders who are fresh, he will struggle. He isn't strong enough most of the time to get passed them. However, get him up against a fullback who has been in a game for 60 minutes and Dembele's speed and quick feet will cause problems. Saito whilst not as quick makes up for it by being a tough little so and so and he has very quick football brain and is very busy. Buzzing all over the place trying to make things happen. |

Mate, says you. Wasn't steaming in at all. Misread one bit and then was trying to give a balanced response based on the general tone of all the messages on here. Sorry if you thought I was having a go, not my intention [Post edited 1 Oct 17:41]

What makes you think we are going to find a buyer? We are all here commenting on his injury record and lack of game time, so what makes you think another club would want a piece of that. I am guessing not amount of gym work or training can get you ready for actual playing time, I am hoping that this might just be his body reacting slightly to be put under a strain for some time. At the moment, we don't know if it was a precaution or something more serious. If a precaution and just his body reacting (maybe as well there is a mental side to this - can't be nice not being able to play or be in pain) then hopefully all ok. If it is something more serious then, I think the club might have to make the decision to let him go. We have already seen that Edwards can provide that playing out from the back that JCS can and a lot younger. We are losing JCS best years currently |

I think the most important thing is, he is improving. He has a manager who can see what he offers offensively. Probably the best at seeing what is on and what pass is required. Creates space with a simple first time pass etc. I liked that he went and took the ball for the penalty, showed responsibility and showed some passion when he scored it. It was also noticeable, more so after he scored that he was a lot more vocal with other players. I really think he has a manager who understands his positives, but also his limitations. Let him grow in the side and hopefully he will work on his limitations. I don't think he is the sort of player who will have a showreel each game, but there are little things he does each game that set up attacks, that only he can do |

Let me a guess, a certain poster came back with something, because the moment someone says anything about putting annoying people on ignore, they automictically assume it is about them lol |

I think there will be a small core group of players that play most of the games, but then some players will be picked based on the opposition. We actually have some depth now so hopefully that will keep people on their toes. I think this can work if you have a clear understanding of what is required of you in your role, patterns of play etc. I get the feeling under JS the players know what their role is on a given day. |
