The BBC will definitely be searching for a 115 year old who was there. They will have a few special programmes on to remind everyone that arsenal’s Welsh goal keeper cheated them the FA Cup
I wonder if he really wanted the captaincy and feels snubbed over that? Ben is doing a great job but I think Darling would have been an excellent leader too.
He’s good and he fits well in the side but to say he’s the be and end all is a bit silly. I agree with the train of thought of get another one in and see if that changes/makes up his mind.
To be fair the worst of his negativity came when playing alongside Grimes. Like the old shop floor mentality - “the management think the sun shines out of Matty’s arse and he does piss all so I’ll do the same”. Especially an easy trap to fall into when two nylon trousers insisted the team play along the back 90% of the game. He’s looked much better since both Grimes and Williams left.
With a more forward thinking mindset I think both Tymon and Key will thrive. With the new players coming in I think we have cause for serious optimism.
It was proven at the time we needed at least 3-5 k extra because we were selling out every week. If we manage to secure big investment that should be our aim - grow the club by expanding the ground. If we managed to get promoted there would be even more interest from the East of Wales and Valleys especially since Cardiff’s relegation toleague one. Strike while the iron’s hot !
If we come within a sniff of the PL next season the same accusations will be thrown around - club has no ambition blah blah blah. However if we expend to 30 k we’d fill the ground for almost every game of the season - season ticket sales would go through the roof and if we get relegated we can then put on kids for a quid/fiver whatever and pay on the day. There is no downside to expanding the ground . Maybe cheap ST’s too
We had rubbish crowds this year because we played the most boring frustrating football I’ve seen us play. One hint of positivity with Sheehans excellent work brining exciting football and everyone wants to be a part of it again.
But they had the planning done and all that. Why impossible? In my honest opinion it’s imperative we keep on growing and getting more and more lifelong fans on board.
