Unfortunate today not to get on, along with some of the other subs, but really other than potentially putting Field on for Kone or Vale(moving Burell out wide, I couldn't see how or why he would sub anyone once we were one up, as the team had balance, shape, and organisation, and nobody looked out on their legs. Changing anything at that point would have been far riskier than the pay off. |

Best Game for us yet. I have a feeling that last season he just couldn't get to grips with the pace of the game in the Championship, and was having difficulty 'learning on the job'. This had several results: 1) he was never really where he should be in order to receive the ball, making it look like he was hiding a lot of the time 2) Didn't trust himself to tackle because he new he was fractionally off with his timing due to the speed that the game was being played at. 3) he often looked like he was in no mans's land defensively, as believing he was a liability in the tackle, would try to mark space but was again off the pace. The pick up in his performances towards the end of last season, and the last three games have shown, not only has he got his timing in synch with the rhythm of championship pace, but he's really been working on the defensive side of his game. Some of his tackles yesterday were very much like some of Varan's, and showed impeccable timing, and it looks like he's also been working with Field on his heading. Its still early days but yesterday's performance shows he pretty much has everything he needs to become a top player if he continues to improve on these aspects of the game to augment what is a fantastic passing game. |

I was trying to work out how he was having such a positive effect on the game. He doesn't stand out on anything, but just seems to do all the basic things well. He doesn't have massive pace, but has just enough. He doesn't do fancy dribbling skills, but still runs with the ball with good close control. Without the pace, without the tricks and silky skills he was still beating his full back. His receiving of the ball, his passing to team mates, it all just seemed so matter of fact. I couldn't work it out .. he was a conundrum to me, maybe because I'm just not used to watching it at QPR. |

I agree in that there are things to be excited about, and I don't mean to be negative on what was a good result, but we continue to show the same failings defensively with a porous midfield and being caught out against by balls over the top. If it wasn't for woeful finishing by Wrexham it could have been a very different result. |

2000 minutes played, NOT 20 games. He's played 32 games. |

We're still undercooked fitness wise as per the ~Ben Williams model". With few of the players having an uninterrupted pre-season, and few able to last 70 minutes let alone 90. We've not played the same back 4 or even the same centre back partnership two games in a row, let alone having a settled back 4. Because of the above, Julien Stephan still doesn't know his best side, or even the best formation and plan to employ with the players at his disposal. It will be another month before this settles down and we're able to put any consistent decent performances together. Up against one of the stronger non-parachute payment clubs in the division I can't see anything other than a comfortable win for Coventry. |

I've heard he's signed contracts with Arsenal earlier today for £68 million. Haven't seen any news on this today, so might be bollox. |

I always thought he was vastly underrated. No pace, but the team was always better when he was in it. He was one of the ex-players on duty when we got a box for my 50th a few years back in the Watford 5th round cup match. I spent 5 minutes drunkenly apologising to him for basically ignoring him because I was spending all my time chatting with one of my childhood favourites, Wayne Fereday. He was very gracious and good humoured about it. |

What is this mysterious project we keep hearing mentioned in interviews? All we hear is "The Project". What is it about "The Project" that is attracting new players to sign? What is it about "The Project" that is enabling us to keep hold of our better players even though they could make more money elsewhere? Please Mr Nourry enlighten us with your AI words of wisdom about this all conquering Project and why it is the best thing since Raquel Welch in 1 million years BC. [Post edited 29 Jun 8:14]

Am I the only one that thinks we might go to a back three with pacy wingbacks and Dunne moving into the three. |

Right up there in my top five favorite players in the last 50 years. If there was anyone else that embodies the role of Ambassador better that Sints I've yet to see it. A true legend. |

I use Nutracheck as well. I've used others, but its the only one that used UK database. It maybe others like MacroFactor have updated to use a UK/European database as well. This is important due to the differences between European and US labels measuring carbs/fibre, which is important to those on low carb diets. I'm 56, 5'11", and went from 17st to 12st7lbs in 8 months until Fe last year The key things I did to do this were I walked 20k steps per day I weight trained 3 times per week I ate at least 150g of protein a day in 3-4 meals per day I ate protein in boluses of at least 35g I tracked what I ate I weighed myself everyday Over the first few weeks calculated my average daily energy expenditure then ate with 750calorie deficit per day on average.(approx. 2k calories a day) I took a couple of diet breaks. I'm now hover within 4 lbs either side of 12 stone at about 15% body fat, and continue to weight train and walk, as I work to build more muscle. Nutritionally I cut out alcohol, pizza, bread, and most forms of calorie dense ultra palatable processed foods like cookies, cheesecakes, cakes, etc. in favour of more fibre rich foods. Prepped my own meals for taking to the office. played around with numerous recipes. As you get older resistance training becomes more important in maintaining muscle mass, strength and quality of life as you age. The walking and weight training has helped immeasurably with an arthritic hip. [Post edited 7 Jun 5:40]

I also don't get the abuse Zamora got. He was turning out when he could with a hip injury and playing through pain and injections, when many other players we've had over the past few years would just be sitting on their hands taking the money. |

His ability to pick a pass is something we've been missing for a long time. Its what Dozzell was supposed to offer us but couldn't. We have plenty of players that can run with the ball, we've got players that can do the hard yards, but some of his pin point balls over the last three games, especially those dinks over the top of defenders, I don't think anyone else in the squad offers including Ilias. The problem has always been his seeming unwillingness to be up for giving or receiving a challenge, making him a liability in the Championship, along with struggling with the pace of the Championship, meaning he's under pressure before he's decided what he's going to do with the ball, at which point he struggles. More recently, his pace of play has significantly improved, giving him just enough time to be effective on the ball. Lets hope he can continue to improve that, and work on the defensive side. There's definitely a player in there, and if he can build on the promise of the last three games, who knows, we may just have a real player next season. |

 | Forum Reply | Trump v Zelensky at 11:41 2 Mar 2025
I thin ka lot of people haven't' watched the whole press conference, but have only watched from the point things went downhill. Unfortunately Zelensky put his foot in it, creating the opportunity for Vance to go full attack dog. At the point Vance first mentioned mentioned the need for diplomacy in a fairly neutral manner, Zelensky had to make the point 'what sort of diplomacy' and then sat back, arms crossed in completely defensive posture. Zelensky didn't need to do that. He wasn't going to win points in that situation. 10-1 on his advisors and diplomats had told him not to try and argue anything, and he had to go and do it. From that point on you then saw the worst of Trump and Vance. It was totally avoidable and about the biggest faux pas I've seen with his country's survival on the line. [Post edited 2 Mar 11:41]

The upcoming fixtures against wba and boro are critical if we are to have any chance whatsoever. It would be typical of us to beat Sheffield United and Leeds but lose to WBA and Boro |
