Saw the bloke painting it yesterday on the corner of the Sandy and Wilbuts looks amazing now it's done. Don't know if it's been done officially or not but it needs to stay.

Thanks for putting me right on that, with the shocking state of my memory getting the right team counts as a victory these days

Remember It Like Yesterday...
at 14:44 6 Sep 2025

How our keeper stayed on the pitch I have no idea. We didn't leave the Gretna social club till closing time. Good day out that was. We got Wrexham in the next round so we ended up playing 2 teams from 2 different countries in consecutive rounds, don't think that's ever been done before or since

Saved a penalty I seem to remember, against Doncaster I think, was it taken 3 times?

Refwatch - Wealdstone v Rochdale

Massive game this for Jim. Go down there, play attacking positive football, come back with 3 points and it will go a long way to repairing the damage caused by the Brackley debacle. Put in an insipid performance and the questions will grow about if Jim has the bottle in big matches to lead the team out of this division.
Wealdstone will be no pushover.
Everything crossed for 3 points.

What's wrong, Jim McNulty.

We may still have lost against Brackley but one ridiculous decision, has sucked the enthusiasm out of a large part of the fanbase.

Another O'Neills teaser...

I was starting to wonder if we were going to have a 3rd kit this season or if I had dreamt it! For me it's going to have to be something really special to make me buy it. There's nothing wrong with this seasons kit's in fact I think the home kit is very smart. It's just that I've been collecting kit's since the 80's and not sure I can justify buying any more.

Don't think Morcambe are out of the woods yet. Some monies have been paid, last month's wages possibly. Panjab Warriors need a bit more time to pay all outstanding debts including HMRC. According to "the price of football" this morning they remain under a transfer embargo so I am presuming the two signings they made must have been free agents. They will be able to play Altrincham on Saturday but I suspect it will be a long hard season. Even if you end up in National North next season you would take that over extinction.

Favourite Dale goal
at 13:35 8 Aug 2025

Robbie Wakenshaw's free kick in the 4-2 victory over Preston, my 1st away game, remember doing the conga in the away end.
Lyndon Simmonds overhead/bicycle kick against Wrexham.
John Bramhall's last minute header v Torquay (?) Think he scored 2 dentical goals late on, can't remember if it was an equaliser or winner now but it felt like a victory

Where’s the bloke?
at 14:24 28 Jul 2025

Firstly I would like to say that I have no issue with women's football and to those (mainly men) that do. If it offends you, don't bleeding watch it and keep your mouth shut.
What bothers me is the fact that premier league clubs are using their women's teams to manipulate PSR . Already Chelsea and Villa have sold off their women's teams to themselves at hugely unrealistic valuations and whilst they state how much money they are spending on their WSL teams, the actual spend is nothing like as much.
Also Doncaster Belles, probably the greatest women's football side of my generation, booted out because they're not a glamour club. Premier league women's clubs will ultimately result in the women's game becoming like the Premier league only a few teams will ever have a chance of winning the WSL and that's no good for anyone.
Finally you can argue all you want about the quality of the football, personally I think it's improving, but Chloe Kelly's penalty was worthy of winning any final.

I can't think of a previous Rochdale manager who has been backed as heavily as Jim has this season.
We have added height to the forward line and bite Ito the defence. Ok so we haven't got our own goalkeeper but I think us Dale fans can safely say we have 99% of our wishlist for positions.
It's up to Jim now to manage the players we have, keep them on board and play good, attractive, attack minded, total options football. No excuses, no bigging up the opposition. Respect them of course, then give them a game they won't ever forget.
Got me train tickets booked for Borehamwood and I have to admit I'm a little bit giddy for the beginning of the season.

New Club Shop Option
at 12:10 7 Jul 2025

Went down to the club shop this morning looking to purchase a mug and a hoodie I'd seen on the online shop. Unfortunately neither available to buy in person, online only. I hope that this isn't going to remain the case and it's just that it's early days.

New home kit
at 14:22 4 Jul 2025

Fair point. When I started going it was white shirts with a red watering can, then switched to blue. I say Rochdale kit because black and blue stripes was what was voted for, for our second millennium and as has been been said was certainly unique among football league clubs at the time (I'm not sure about non league)
I think it provides the club with a strong brand identity which people tell me is good. You're never going to please all the fans no matter what kit we play in, it all comes down to personal preference. What I will say though is it's a massive improvement on last seasons kit and that was chosen by the fans, apparently.

New home kit
at 12:58 4 Jul 2025

Initial thoughts, it's a smart looking shirt. I like the richness of the blue and like the collar design. I think the sleeve sponsor would look better reversed with white letters on the blue shirt as oppose to a big white splodge on the sleeve.
Is it a Rochdale kit though? It's just a nice blue shirt, it's most definitely not blue and black stripes (or interpretation of stripes that Palace manage to do so well) which gives us a unique identity, which for me should be paired with white shorts and socks.
Having said all that I have just seen it on the online shop and the side panels which also run down into the shorts look very nice and lifts the overall look somewhat and it is starting to grow on me.
Blue and black stripes next year though please

I believe it's the same bloke who owned Worcester Warriors and bankrupted them. Then they had the usual chancers and tyre kickers come knocking. All throughout this the Morcambe board of directors kept the club running despite the owner so fair play to them for that.

Should he stay or should he go?
at 14:40 16 May 2025

On the face of it a 3rd place finish and a cup semi final equates to a successful season and you would assume that any manager achieving this should be safe in their job, however I'm just not convinced.

We all can see where the team needs strengthening it's been said often enough, a couple of strikers, combative midfielder and our own keeper but does Jim see it this way? I want to keep Jim and for him to prove me wrong can he go out and sign those players over the summer, I hope so but he seems so wedded to his coaching manual principals that I don't really trust him to do this, he didn't replace Henry he got more wide players in instead.

It's been a season ot frustration for me, whenever I think we've turned a corner and the penny has finally dropped we revert to type it's soul destroying.

When we are bad it's really bad, it's boring non entertainment- and I don't care if someone wants to point out the stats for goals scored, lack of goals conceded etc, etc and tell me it's been a successful season. This is my opinion, and I'm entitled to it.

Jim has succeeded in one thing that no other manager has done (not even Barrow or Buckley although it was close) and that is stop me going to watch the mighty Dale. I haven't been since Ebbsfleet at home. I knew what was going to happen against Spennymoor and I knew what was going to happen last night. I hoped with all my heart that I would be wrong. I wasn't.

Do I want Jim to go? I think overall yes I do, do I think it will happen, no.

Oh and will I turn up for the beginning of next season, probably but my patience will wear thinner, quicker.
