*** "Robert Madley *** - will be the man in the middle for Swansea City’s Carabao Cup third-round clash against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night (8pm).
It is the first time the West Yorkshire official has taken charge of a Swans game since a Championship fixture against Preston in December 2023.
That was one of three Swansea fixtures he oversaw that season, having also had the whistle for home draws against Coventry and Sunderland.
Madley is a vastly experienced referee, he first officiated in the EFL in 2010 and was a Premier League officials between 2013 and 2018, and returned to refereeing in the top-flight in 2022.
On Wednesday, Madley will be assisted by Mark Russell and Matthew Smith. Ollie Yates will be the fourth official." |

"Supertramp founder Rick Davies, who wrote and sang some of the rock band's hits, has died at the age of 81.
The English vocalist and keyboardist died on Saturday, a decade after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, the band said.
"As co-writer, along with partner Roger Hodgson, he was the voice and pianist behind Supertramp's most iconic songs, leaving an indelible mark on rock music history," a statement said. "His soulful vocals and unmistakable touch on the Wurlitzer became the heartbeat of the bands' sound."
Davies wrote songs including 1974's Bloody Well Right, their US chart breakthrough; and 1979's Goodbye Stranger."

"Chelsea exercised the buy-back option in Ishe Samuels-Smith's contract at Strasbourg and have now loaned the defender to Swansea City.
As exclusively reported on football.london in July, Strasbourg signed the 19-year-old defender in a deal worth around £6.5million, but Chelsea have now opted to bring the Cobham graduate back to the club via a clause in his contract. Ben Chilwell moved to the BlueCo-owned French club on deadline day on a permanent basis, ending his five-year association with the Blues, and it became clear that Samuels-Smith would be moving to Swansea on a season-long loan to pave way for the experienced English left-back."
"Sources have told football.london that Chelsea made the decision due to the lack of pathway for Samuels-Smith at Strasbourg. Initially, the French club signed the defender with Ismael Doukoure, who plays in a similar role to Samuels-Smith, looking set to leave amid a contract standoff. However, Doukoure decided to stay and he ended up extending his contract at Stade de la Meinau - blocking Samuels-Smith's pathway somewhat, and with Chilwell signing for the Ligue 1 side, there were even more obstacles for the teenager."

Swansea are poised to complete the loan signing of Burnley winger Manuel Benson.
The 28-year-old has been at Turf Moor for the last three years but made just three league appearances for the Clarets as they won promotion to the Premier League last season.
The Angola international has scored 14 goals in 51 appearances for Burnley since joining from Royal Antwerp.
Benson will join striker Adam Idah in south Wales after he made a £6m move from Celtic earlier today. |
