Only recently hearing about this because the mainstream media apparently havent been reporting it that for the last year or so Independent investigative journalists are being raided by the authorities who look like they are trying to pin terror related charges on them, very worrying for our democracy and freedom of speech if true.
Mainstream journalists are an extension of the state and in the main report what the state is happy for them to report but independent investigative journalists that might research things the powers that be don't like seem to be getting targeted, echos of 1930s Germany. [Post edited 29 Jun 18:41]

Some good news that the bill passed, but it was close, public polls I've seen say the public are 75% in favour of assisted dying, but mps being a law unto themselves were barely just over 50% for it, but at least it passed, no idea what the unelected House of Lords do, if they can scupper it or not, hope there are no problems and it becomes law. |

Greta Thunberg aid ship to Gaza has apparently been intercepted by Israel, I would imagine after 9 people were killed previously on a Turkish aid ship attempting to deliver aid and the outcry that followed that the same fate won't happened to these aid volunteers.
Apparently Israel is going to show them footage of the Oct 7th attack from nearly 2 years ago as some kind of justification for starving women and children out there and make them think they should not be given food and medicines to these people, personally I don't think that will work in changing the aid volunteers minds. |

I wonder if our sons and grandsons will be off to war soon.

French teams have a terrible win-lose record in the final of the European cup/Champions League, I would like to see them do it this time, PSGhave been good to watch and Italians sides have won it a lot more times than French teams, I remember being devastated when St Etienne lost in the final to the Germans back in the day, St Etienne hit the woodwork a few times that match and the ball never went in because Hampden had square posts, in fact I reckon they were wooden posts as well, most places had metal round posts by then, the French thought they were done by the posts. |

Very disturbing stories about a Quaker house in London being raid by police and 6 young women being arrested.
I've read a couple of articles and at face value it's very worrying the direction this country is going in, its possible there is more to the story that we don't know about but it doesn't look like, it looks like shocking jack boot behaviour by the police.  [Post edited 31 May 13:48]

The beeb has just lost a court case to Gerry Adams (Irish politician) that apparently is going to cost millions and millions, I don't like Gerry Adams, some hardliners Republicans don't even like him leave alone the otherside, although obviously he does have his supporters, but people need to think twice about taking him on as he always seems to have the answers. |

The English led Labour Government are stepping in to help Scunny steelworks yet they did very little to help Port Talbot.
Looks like naked racism to me, Port Talbot had a bigger capacity and a harbour, both should have been saved due to the importance to the UK but if only one was to be saved it should have been Port Talbot, it smells of anti Wales racism. |

This Labour government are right wing Tories, the main opposition the Conservatives are right wing Tories, Reform are off the chart out on the right wing .
Corbyn had some good policies, now we have a massive cost of living crisis, the rich are getting richer and the poor poorer, the nhs in crisis, our infrastructure is poor, our services are falling apart, right wing policies are not working. |
