Despite " breaking the bank" to offer Darling a new onttact it seems he is looking elswhere.
Retract the offer let him go.

This is not unlike the West Brom shanannings with Williams

I would have thought Sheehan and Montague wpuld have said all of that when putting this latest "big" offer on the table. Apparently it will make him the highest paid player at the club...if he hasnt commited within the deadline then he can go.
Yes he will be a loss and we will have to bed in another player but it seems Darling isnt in love with us as he obvioulsy believes he will get more elswhere.
Risky for him with his injury.
Maybe he feels unloved as we didnt meet his cknttact demands earlier but we seem to have bent over backwards now...if he wanted to stay surely he have signed

Absolutely but we musnt lose sight of
1 the need to secure Darling or
2 find an adequate replacement and
3 find suitable cover at centre back

todays game doesnt highlight defensive frailites but as it stands we only have Cabango as a recognised CB
unless Darling resigns.If we get the ideal scenario and Darling stays we are left with no cover ....so we need Lowe or Delcroix as well as Darling

I think Vip showed today he is not a Championship striker.
Had a couple of gilt edge chances .

Enjoyed the game it didnt always feel like a typical end of season nothing to play for event dissapointed we conceded 3 goals especially the last one cant believe O Brien made that mistake but I agree with Richard O too much playong around in out own half.
Looking forward to next season though and it was great to have the ground full.

I hope the club do make a Sheehan an offer and also intheir conversations they align as Sheehan spoke of.
The risk is the owners and executive management may not share his vision resulting in him moving on.
This would be sad and bad news for us fans but the club needs a plan b shoukd plan a not pan out out surely?
