Twelve Games in what next?
at 18:31 8 Oct 2025

Not looking to far, the next three games could be telling. In the next three games for those at the top:

Borehamwood - York (A) Forest Green (H)

Halifax - York (H) Carlisle (A)

Forest Green - Borehamwood (H) Carlisle (A)

York - Halifax (H) York (A)

Carlisle - Forest Green (A) Halifax (H)

Rochdale - Scunthorpe (H)

Scunthorpe- Rochdale (A)

If we could win our next three games a real gap could start to open

All you can do is look how we have started this year. As you say comparing is pointless.

In any level of competition to make the start we have should be applauded. I’m enjoying where we are, and daring to believe we might just get out of this god forsaken division after a just a few seasons,.

The team and the management team should be given credit.

We have also played the three teams immediately below us away from home and won them all.

Not too sure that that’s not any different at any club. Players have release clauses etc.

Unfortunately it’s the way of life if you can’t cover the bills with any other revenue streams. The thing that may be different now to previous boards, as Keith eludes to, is while it will enviable we will eventually sell players to be sustainable, the Ogdens have the funds so that we can decide when the time is right, rather than derail a season.

100%

We have had specialists report that the pitch has practically no drainage and will cost 1.5million, anything else is just prolonging the problem.

It’s pointless comparing it to other pitches as they don’t have this issue. Any lower league club losing a couple of million a year would have struggled.

The Ogdens have committed to resolving the issue and inevitably picking up the cost. We are where we are and we have to manage the situation the best we can. With all the will in the world with the amount or rain we had yesterday (40-60mm) and the issues we had there was no way the pitch could have coped covers or no covers.

But it’s more complex than that.

You can’t constantly have a pitch covered, and if the water table around the pitch is high like today through torrential rain it is not going to guaranteed to work.

The covers will help limit the saturation of a pitch but not full prevent the ground underneath still soaking up water.

We have a unique set of problems meaning our pitch doesn’t drain. We have specialist telling us the only long term solution is to spend upwards of 1.5 million to put it right.

Other teams don’t have these issues

Other games have been abandoned or postponed today so we really didn’t stand a chance.

Any lower division club would have struggled spending that sort of money. 24 months ago we couldn’t even pay the wages so what chance did we have spending the money to fix the pitch.Thankfully we now have the Ogdens who will enviably fund what needs to be done.

But fans just telling the club they’re an embarrassment without excepting the extent of the problem just really doesn’t help anyone. Particularly when those running the club are investing millions to keep us afloat.

No Rodney or Allrakhia?

Personally I think it will be the same team as we have started all season with Amantchi coming in for Mani. The only other change potentially may be Berkoe for Allrakhia.

Despite how well McBride has done coming from the bench the others haven't done anything that has warranted losing their place. The obvious candidate would be Barlow but in my opinion he cant be left off the team sheet.

100%

On the angle behind the goal you can see the defender actually drags Gordon down and then falls into his keeper on the way down. Gordon nods the empty ball into the empty net.

I agree with the commentator that Gordon had a shout for a penalty if he hadn’t put it in.

This team have conceded 2 goals from open play in 7 games, and have comfortably dealt with what’s been thrown at them. There are stronger tests to come but there’s a feel about this team that if the get a goal up they have confidence in each other to see it out.

Let’s see where we are after the Carlisle game but they have already shown they have nothing to fear.

Or hindsight, not many posts suggesting Mani to be rested before yesterday’s game.

As Sutty says the reason for having such depth in the squad is so you can replace quality with quality.

You have to remember the predicament we were in.

That six figure fee probably allowed us to crawl over the line to give us enough time to seal the Ogden deal.

I seem to remember at an EGM a while back, it was said it was due to the fact we lost our elite academy status we couldn’t sign him.

Election of new Trust main board director

Indeed many of the signatures for the meeting had voted for the trust director.

The meeting was to discuss the need for a director and if so clarification on their role.

Brief summary there were discussions around the role of a trust director and why it was needed.

It was felt the vote for a director should be upheld but there needed to be more detail on the role.

Daletrust special general meeting
at 23:00 18 Jul 2025

Just a reminder that tomorrow there is a trust EGM in dale bar from 11:00am.

It seems that there has been no reminder sent out or posted on the trust website. The purpose of the meeting is as follows:

“In collaboration with the Dale Trust and its membership, to review the need for a trust director on the main board given the creation of CAB, the election criteria, and if required clarification on how the role will operate.”

100% that’s it.

That was hills and flicker’s blue print and what gave us the success over the years. Get young talented players give them the opportunity to flourish. Sell them on with a ‘sell on’ clause and repeat with the next scouted player.

No reason why you can’t do the academy too, but those players are more for progression to the first team, but if you get a diamond you can sell on so much the better.
