Sheehan doesn’t need stats to tell him what’s happening on the pitch,we’ve can all see it , our fullbacks can’t tackle or defend ,Stamenic has turned into Grimes passing sideways and back and slows play down , our midfielders and wingers are marked tighter get pushed off the ball far too easily,we constantly faff around at the back instead of playing forward with pace and determination and we don’t get the ball into Zan Yesterday we were beyond lucky,Southampton should have been out of sight by halftime and it could have been a really embarrassing result He needs to get back to the way he had us playing at the end of last season, faster and braver Oh and we play Man City soon |

Sheehan said he only wanted players who were better than what we already had to improve the team , that hasn’t happened in this instance |

A couple of Our midfield and wide players do get pushed off the ball far too easily,we’ve had a few games this season crying out for us to be more physical but they seem reluctant to try It also has me pulling my hair out watching our fullbacks constantly backing off attacking players instead of standing up to them and trying to get a tackle or even put a foot in ,before we can blink they are on the edge of our box ready to shoot, really bloody frustrating I don’t know what has happened to Stamenic,he’s a shadow of the player from his first couple of games, sideways and back slow the play down don’t attack and then repeat, has he regressed or playing to Sheehan’s orders ,either way he’s not the player we had or need right now |

It’s as if when he was a caretaker he coached bravely like he had nothing to lose and now he’s the Head coach/Manager he’s become too cautious and afraid to lose because now it would cost him his job ,he’s got himself in a catch 22 situation of his own making really but things really do need to change or it will be out of his hands |

We get stifled when our fullbacks get too close to our wingers when attacking, our movement needs to be better, either the fullback attacks and the winger drops off or vice versa , if both get caught too far forward and we lose the ball we are open to attacks from out wide,Routledge and Dyer were excellent at reading the game in those situations and covered the fullbacks really well We also seem to let the opposition have too much space and time on the ball in the middle late in games Something we can work on |

Agree with you,he’s relatively inexperienced and will learn from every game and his coaching team needs to help more as well,so let’s be patient and keep cheering the boys on Football fans in general have unrealistic expectations for their side and let their frustrations get the better of them, our fans are no different As you say if there is no improvement by Christmas then questions will be asked and not just by the fans ,those in charge will definitely be on the case As I said let’s hope we start seeing improvements and all the Debbie Downers can go back in the shadows COYS |

Belgium looked likely to score every time they went forward, they break so fast and in numbers, they do look a little shaky at the back but I guess they think they can score more than the opposition and that’s all that matters |

He probably copied his way all the way through school,Keith He’s an unashamed fraud that couldn’t lace your boots without looking over someone’s shoulders Keep up the great work,Keith |

You’re right there , most couldn’t understand it either. I think Sheehan baffled all of us on Saturday, you could hear the groaning every time we played the ball backwards, either from midfield or even on occasion from out wide , and it happened a lot,it just seemed so negative and lacking ambition I hope he’s learned and we never have to witness it again |
 | Forum Reply | Stamenic- is he another Fulton? at 11:03 6 Oct 2025
We need him to be the player he was on his debut, looking to get on the front foot, carrying and passing the ball forward and looking for the ball , not the Stamenic we saw Saturday, who didn’t seem to want the ball and when he got it passed it sideways and back,a la Grimes when he was here Or was he following orders We are a better team when we play forward with pace |

I just wish we’d stop the short goal kicks constantly, shake it up a bit, play it longer occasionally to stop us being so predictable and easy to play against, also stop all the faffing across at the back line and play out quicker, be more adventurous and play football with more forward ambition,on the occasions we have we look dangerous and have created chances and scored some good goals . We have the players to do it ,so why not Just watched Ipswich and they only play forward and quick football but retain their defensive shape to counter any turnovers and the forward players bust a gut to get back cover any potential danger Great to watch |

Spot on there and we see it every game but no changes made , yesterday was the perfect example,we’ve gone back to the needless sideways and backwards passing of past coaches, people around me yesterday were pulling their hair out with it ,so frustrating and aimless.Stamenic looked a shadow of the player we first signed,no movement and looking like he didn’t want the ball at all and what’s with this ‘play Cullen at all costs ‘thing , can’t see a position for him in our formation , he wouldn’t get in any other championship team starting 11,so why does Sheehan and previous managers ,it has to be said ,keep pushing him, It is down to Sheehan and he needs to learn fast and be prepared to change things and quickly, because every manager in the championship can see what our main weaknesses are now and you can bet they will be working on exploiting them |
 | Forum Reply | How is Alan Sheehan doing ? at 23:11 4 Oct 2025
I think he is doing ok but not great but he’s still learning the job of head coach /manager and he needs a bit more time He definitely needs to improve his tactics ,team selection and substitutions but these come with experience and the coaches he has around him should be helping him with this part of the job ,so they need to improve as well What is concerning is that many posters on here have commented on the space and time our fullbacks give wingers for weeks but Sheehan seems oblivious to what everyone else sees and hasn’t done anything about it,other teams seem to mark our widemen tight,he must see that ,if they can do it so should we Some of his substitutions are baffling and He always waits until the hour mark to make them, even when it’s obvious we need changes earlier ,today for example ,Cullen struggled yet played an hour and Stamenic looked lethargic ,constantly passed the ball backwards and needed replacing, yet played the full game We need to see an improvement |

Pretty much all of what you say is I saw it today as well, he should have put Galbraith and Yalcouye on half time for Stamenic and Cullen, why they’ve got this thing of waiting until the hour mark is baffling ,if it needs change just do it Vipotnik should never have come off , apart from the spot kick,Idah did nothing to improve us,if he’d gone on With VIP then maybe a different story Leicester didn’t overpower us by any means and we didn’t look worse than them either, just one of those games to forget about I guess, and go again next game |
 | Forum Reply | Swansea City v Leicester City : Match day thread at 17:38 4 Oct 2025
Stamenic and Cullen should have been the first to be replaced, Stamenic was static in the first half not moving to make himself available for the ball and when he did have the ball he mostly played it backwards ,he did much the same 2nd half too but stayed on all game ??,Cullen isn’t a midfielder and should never have started in that position, he’s a nice lad but be honest,he wouldn’t be in the starting lineup in any other championship side Galbraith and Yalcouye are far more dynamic and would have made a huge difference in the middle . VIP should have stayed on and if Sheehan wanted Idah on he should have gone with 2 up front The first two Leicester goals were great finishes to be fair ,I think it would be a bit harsh to blame our defenders too much ,yes I suppose they could have closed the Leicester players down better and put more pressure on them but they were good goals, the third one was just an unlucky ricochet and summed up a frustrating day for us Leicester certainly didn’t look better than us and the result definitely flattered them Never mind ,we go again COYS |
 | Forum Reply | Defence at 15:48 1 Oct 2025
I did say we had good central defending , I’m just concerned by the amount of crosses they managed, the more we allow the greater the chance of conceding,Blackburn marked our wide men tighter which limited us to only 9 I agree with you about opposing players told to get the ball in quicker and I wish we’d do the same because I think we’re capable and on the occasions we do , we’ve managed to score Like I said it’s something that can definitely be improved in training ,Dyer and Routledge were brilliant at helping and protecting our fullbacks and I think our current wingers are more than capable of doing the same |
