Swans eager to move on numerous players but not to fund their current targets Monday, 2nd Jun 2025 08:00 by Liam Walters & Colin Thomas It won’t be a huge surprise that Swansea City are keen to move on Jerry Yates and Mykola Kukharevych, but it will possibly alarm some that Jay Fulton isn’t seen as an option for next season. Jay never really hit the mark as a Premier League footballer, he had a lot of competition. in recent years he has been a go to and a main stay as back up but also starting games. The thirty one year old we are told has been advised that he can seek pastures new although his salary which is in the region of fourteen thousand pounds a week is seen as restrictive this summer. He won’t get that elsewhere and players these days do like to run down their contracts and get a half decent signing on fee. The last time Jay Fulton was told he could leave the club was during the reign of Russell Martin, then his best offers came in around five to six thousand pounds a week from Barnsley that we confirmed at the time. There was little point in him accepting that as back then he still had a good few years to run on his current contract. Financially it was never going to happen. Steve Cooper when at Swansea was a huge admirer and went out of his way to ensure Jay (below) got a long deal and at a fairly high rate for his services. ![]() Now though with just one year to go on his Swansea contract and clearly not going to be in next seasons plans he is now in search of a three year contract elsewhere. For us he may have to settle for two. He will have options for sure, in Scotland and in League one in England. He still has a lot to offer a team at that level. One of the relegated sides are rumoured to have been linked to him. It isn’t Cardiff City. Having been at the club for eleven and a half years Jay has secured sufficient finances to make a very decent future for himself and family. However, moving and getting a new deal would improve matters greatly. He has had two loan periods at Wigan Athletic and Oldham Athletic during his time at the Swans but overall he is very much a lover of Swansea and all it has to offer. Another player the Swans are looking to offload, preferably as a loan is Florian Bianchini which we exclusively revealed on this website before Tom Coleman at Wales On Line then used as his own news. Within one of his reports two weeks later he sneakily mentioned Bianchini without credit. The Swans want to see Bianchini with more game time, even if that means him stepping down to League One which is the clubs preference. One social media outlet has reported that the Swans have to move players on to accommodate targets the club has this summer. That’s been confirmed to us as incorrect. We have been told that no club would scout and source players without the money already in the bank. That would be foolhardy and a total waste of time and resources. The recruitment side of Swansea City are working solidly together and very much in tandem, not only with the requirements of Alan Sheehan but fully aware of budgets and considerations. When you think about that it really does put these accounts into perspective. News on Jerry Yates (below) and Mykola is scarce but we have managed to find out that Jerry Yates is of interest to two Championship clubs, one is Derby County which is fairly obvious. They couldn’t make a decision on Jerry Yates until their relegation fears were removed at the end of last term. The issue we are told is the Swans want more than Derby are wanting to spend. The gap is fairly wide but the Swans are eager to talk more with Derby and the other interested side ‘which we think’ is Sheffield Wednesday. We cannot confirm this just yet. ![]() We still think a million will secure Yates services. Unfortunately for Mykola nothing solid has come in for him, However this week will answer a few questions. It’s going to be a day to day moving picture crammed full of rumours and speculation. Agents are working at a high intensity for sure hoping their commitment to get their clients into the news pays off. Not every club has the type of structure the Swans have. Cardiff City are a great example of having a pretty poor overall process in locating and sourcing first team players. We are going to try and keep everyone updated, we can’t get it right one hundred per cent of the time purely because of the moving parts within transfer business. Plus, we certainly will not be disclosing too much detail of players coming in. We can indicate something but that’s as far as we will go. We have been asked by several of our sources to do this as jeopardising transfers isn’t what any of us want. And to be connected to that is very destructive all round. We still believe that the Swans support will be pretty happy with what is coming up but there’s a whole load of business to come. Especially over the next two months before the season starts. And then of course the two to three weeks or so after that which the Swans in the past have utilised to their advantage regards profit and sustainability. We will do our level best to keep everyone informed in the right way. Join in on the discussions on the forum, signing up costs nothing and there’s always a few hints of potential news to come.
