Marc Guiu link to the Swans examined. Plus Inoussa injury news

Swansea City have been connected with Chelsea forward, nineteen year old Marc Guiu in relation to a loan to the club for the start of the 2025/26 football season. We have kept our powder dry on this link purely because the Swans are most certainly on the look out for more fire power up front. Now certain accounts and websites have stated talks or a bid have been made.

We did some digging. It has taken longer than expected so a straight forward NO was impossible.

Looking deep into the background of this information we have discovered that this player has been circulated to specific Championship clubs and top flight sides across Europe. We have engaged with a number of sources and one who we have spoken to before was a bit flippant but was generally being honest. They referred us to certain comments made when the youngster joined Chelsea last year. “When you currently have the best young players, and you are signing the best of the best in promising players, you just can succeed.” They added ‘Your club isn’t really an exciting prospect for any player of his standard, maybe you should look at someone like Omari Kellyman (another Chelsea player) Kellyman moved to Chelsea for nigh on twenty million pounds from Aston Villa last summer. He has had a very bad hamstring injury which has stalled his progress over the past twelve months. That sounds like a no too.

From those comments on the Swans and Guiu we can only say fair enough, but of course Guiu has seen little action at Chelsea and now having broke the release clause for the player last summer (€5M euros) the Blues want to see him progress. Liam Delap and Joao Pedro joining Chelsea have stifled Guiu’s chances of any selection so it is now agreed he needs to find a club for one season elsewhere. He did appear at the World Club Championship in the USA. (below)

We know this morning that a player of the age of Guiu is preferred to move to an environment he is used to or that isn’t as low a level as the Championship. We’ve been told that, However there seems to be exceptions. It has now been indicated to us he is being touted to Spanish clubs as well as other European teams. With the Swans alerted as to his availability we have ascertained that no contact, talks or real interest in Guiu has been shown by Swansea City. The reason for this is the expectation at Chelsea is he will move to a bigger club abroad, and alongside Spain the Bundesliga is the current option if possible. Allegedly there is a Championship club interested, and that is Ipswich, but our contacts couldn’t confirm or deny that.

It wouldn’t surprise us though. A relegated premier league club would or could be something more appealing than the Swans at this moment in time.

The state of play this morning is that Swansea City have been alerted, but many clubs have recieved a circulation notice regards his availability. The Swans would be very interested if the player considered a move to the Championship - but are currently ruling it out due to the amount of clubs who are clearly ahead of them. News of offers and contact from the Swans are completely incorrect. This seems to be one of those news items that the Swans have nothing to lose over if they did go official.

Unfortunately once again we have seen social media accounts pushing things that they clearly have no information on. The annoying thing is Swansea City could easily make themselves an attractive proposition for Guiu, the real problem thoughts is salary, fee’s and his representatives not really wanting him to go to a level that the Swans are at. It’s a shame because this player would be an incredible signing for the Swans this season.

One of the few links this summer we wish we were wrong about. This player won’t be signing for Swansea.

We have been informed this morning that Zeidane Inoussa isn’t a long term injury concern, and the hope is is he will recover this week at Fairwood. Ben Cabango unfortunately will have another scan tomorrow on an injury which has kept him out of pre season. Ricardo Santos is expected to be out for a while and will miss the start of the new season. Latest on Eom is he is making progress now he has started training after two weeks. That injury list of first team players is getting longer and is quite concerning.

Guiu was first mentioned by the ma n from Resolven a few weeks back. It was meant at the sort of profile Swansea should go for if OMcB was out of this price range. Let's face it Chelsea's experience loaning players to Swansea has been very profitable for them.
