Swansea City : Bianchini leaves & Jerry Yates news
Friday, 1st Aug 2025 07:00 by Keith Haynes

Swansea City have at last found a club for Florian Bianchini as he has agreed to join Portsmouth on loan for the 2025/26 season. The Frenchman now twenty four has a Swansea contract for another three years.

We reported Bianchini’s potential loan away from the Swans at the end of May and despite efforts to move him on in June and July - August is a good month as it spills over to the next profit and sustainability year for a number of clubs. Bianchini’s registration will go through today enabling him to ply his trade as a Portsmouth player. He joined the Swans last summer for a sum rumoured to be around two million pounds. He didn’t have the best of seasons last time around struggling for a permanent place in the first eleven starting on only eight occasions returning three goals. As a much used substitute his impact was frustrating and earned him few admirers.

Yesterday was possibly one of the oddest days of the summer so far. Much was being discussed behind numerous closed doors that Jerry Yates was in some way under discussion by Swans Sporting Director, Richard Montague with Wycombe Wanderers. We took the amount of news coming in on face value, but as always started to review and explore what became a surge of information by 7pm last night. Having been running this website for five years something didn’t feel right. Unfortunately two of our very decent sources were not contactable and by 9pm we were sold on the fact this was or could be factual news.

Swans fans had been discussing it, Liam who now runs our social media had one tested source from there stating this as fact, so we prepared what we knew. Which was hardly anything. Having learned from experience on these matters (something that cannot be explained in a Twitter post) we did some more digging. The upshot this morning is that Jerry Yates has not been discussed with Wycombe Wanderers to any extent and in any case they were not keen on having him at Adam’s Park in any exchange deal for Richard Kone. A player who has been a topic of discussion the last few days. We covered that yesterday as the ever evolving news on this went from a four and a half million pounds bid (factually incorrect) to that being the second bid for Kone by Richard Montague. (doubtful)

We covered that in our afternoon update below.

⚽️ That’s here —> Kone options reviewed

We have always been told that this week and next on the run up to a season is the most difficult time for clubs to do business. The misinformation floating around from alleged top journalists, on the weekend especially with ‘Swansea ahead in the race for McBurnie’ nonsense which we put to bed on Saturday despite more sightings of him in Swansea than seagulls on the marina. This is referenced on our homepage, it gets boring at times to keep on reminding people of these ridiclious reports by full time journalists. Marc Guiu of Chelsea is there as well, another exclusive report by this website.

On Jerry Yates and a part of the Richard Kone discussions, he will not be joining the Chairboys in any part exchange deal. Wycombe want hard cash up front and as we explained yesterday it will have to be staggered payments. What we do know on Yates is that there have been inquiries and he is expected to leave the Swans as soon as a deal can be reached. His salary is putting off the majority of clubs. But can he really expect that on any contract he gets in the future ? His fitness is explained as good despite very limited pre season game time, however he has had more minutes than Ben Cabango. The Swans are keeping very quiet on the latest scan report on Ben and Eom’s progress today isn’t known. He was ‘on the grass’ and has been for the majority of the week. Ricardo Santos we can reveal could be out for up to six weeks. Better news is Inoussa is reacting well to treatment.

It’s a long list without a competitive ball kicked in anger.

There some very dubious souls about this week with Phil on Jack Army also being sent some of the most ludicrous reports, one stating Jamie Vardy is coming to Swansea along with five other strikers. It’s a tough test working through these remarkable claims, but we think Phil got his head round that quite quickly. If more explanation is required behind the many rumours about this time of the year then we certainly put ourselves forward as a prime source for Swans news. If Twitter and a few words is more to your liking this probably isn’t the website for you, especially with all that tip top news on Oli McBurnie floating around which as we have stated all along had never got off the ground.

I reckon an utility defender is needed covering full back and centre back. Perhaps one of the loan slots.
