Why Not Have A Non League Day This Saturday Tuesday, 7th Oct 2025 12:29 With no fixture for Southampton this weekend, why not take a day off from the stress of worrying about Saints and visit one of our local non league clubs, some of whom are striving for a place in the FA Cup first round proper. With Eastleigh away to Hampton & Richmond in the 4th Round Qualifying in the FA Cup, the biggest game on in the Southampton area on Saturday is taking place at the Snows Stadium in Totton where the Stags of National League South AFC Totton take on a club one division higher in the National League Truro City. As they have both drawn each other in this round it means that there will be no repeat in May at Wembley in the FA Cup of the 2007 FA Vase Final when both clubs met at the new Wembley for what was only the second game played in the stadium, coming a day after the FA Trophy final played the day before. Back then a record crowd of 27,754 including around 17,000 who travelled up from Southampton to support Totton saw the Stags take the lead but end up losing 3-1. There won't be 27,000 in the Snows Stadium on Saturday, but there will be approaching a couple of thousand who will hope to see Totton reach the first round and take on League opposition. Totton may start slight favourites as although they sit a division below, they are in fine form and sit 5th in the League whilst Truro are second from bottom in the National League and are already 5 points off safety. More information about this game including buying tickets online can be found at AFC Totton Tickets when bought in advance online are £15 for adults, £11 for concessions and £6 for those aged between 5-17. For those families who want to go, an online family ticket for 2 adults and 2 Children 5-17 is a bargain £30 if bought before the day of the game. Sadly Sholing FC won't be able to cash in on a spare Saturday for Saints as they will be travelling to Gloucester City in the Southern League Premier South. However a little bit lower down the pyramid, Millbrook FC are taking on Petersfield Town FC at Test Park in Millbrook with a 3pm kick off. The Dockers as they are known play in the Wessex League Premier League where they sit in mid table, whereas Petersfield are currently in 2nd place, level pegging with another Southampton club AFC Stoneham who sit top on goal difference, sadly AFC Stoneham are away this weekend. Adult tickets are only £6, concessions £3 and those under 18 are free. More information on tickets and Millbrook Fc can be found at Millbrook FC So why not pop along to one of these two matches this weekend, both will offer a good game of football at a fraction of the cost of attending a game in the Premier League or Championship.
