Alan Sheehan : ‘There’s niggles’ Full interview, plus we look at recent visits to St Mary’s Thursday, 16th Oct 2025 17:38 by Swansea Independent The international break has created a few issues for Swansea City head coach, Alan Sheehan. One being Eom who will ‘return to the grass’ tomorrow morning then get on the coach with the squad. The Swans head down to the south coast for Saturdays early kick off against Southampton (12:30pm) with plenty of time for preparation. Talking about the fixture and his squads issues referencing niggles from international duty but nothing from those who stayed and trained with the Swans. Our inquiries have revealed Eom (who scored for South Korea v Paraguay on Tuesday evening) will be having treatment this afternoon, Marko Stamenić too. ⚽️ Our pre match is here —> Saints v Swans Sheehan reflected back on his short time at Southampton when after three months he was sacked as first team coach with Chris Cohen. Those who recall that will be aware it was Nathan Jones who also departed as head coach. Another link of course is Russell Martin, we will have a look at those tomorrow in our Friday evening round up. Watch Alan Sheehan pre match before Saturdays game away at Southampton. That’s here —> It’s a big game for the estimated thousand Swans fans making the journey, victories have been hard to come by at St Mary’s, the Swans haven’t won their since defeating the Saints 1-0 in 2015. The only other victory of note came at the ‘Liberty’ stadium in 2017, that was 2-1. The last five fixtures between the sides have ended in defeat for the Swans. So there is some real solid work needed from certain players returning to the first eleven who would rather have a few days off. ![]() Photograph : Swansea Independent (Llewellyn) Video Swans TV Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
