Dave, he's Managed this club for an awful long time. From the start of this season its been his gig, nobody else's, this is his team, his and his alone.

I actually include phrases like "I think" rather than simply going in with the matter of fact sentences like your last. Pot kettle black, you saying I can't accept a different opinion. Is anyone really surprised by the score tonight? on 23:22 - Apr 8 by essextaxiboy | Not at all , if he picks a team like tonights in a home playoff semi then he will fail ...and thats when he has to be held to account . |
I honestly cannot believe the blind faith that some people show in this Charlatan of a football manager. It blows my mind how to some people he walks on water. The point about being held to account at the end of the season is just floored logic.... On that basis..... Mark Hughes should have stayed in charge until the end of the season and then held to account if relegated ??????? Mark Hughes is thought of by most as the Antichrist. Yet in some peoples eyes HR can do no wrong ??? You need to wake up and smell the coffee..... The man could not give a flying f@£; ... He needs to go. I'd rather stay down than have to endure him being at our club any longer. He'll ruin us if he stays.

I'm not going to try to belittle your post - it's your point of view and you are entitled to it. I would remind you many fans spend their hard earned cash following he team around the country. For many it places a great strain on their finances but they find the money for the love of the club. The least they deserve in return is a little pride and passion. It isn't much to ask in return for £30K a week is it? Redknapp and TF are making a calculated team selection policy IMO. We will not get automatic promotion and are all but sure of a play off place. Send out the squad players to go through the motions. Promotion is everything. Don't worry about the disenchanted fans - we can replace them with foreign tourists following promotion.

Yeah, it's a tad waffly. Just fed up with the same old stuff from Dave. We disagree. I have my reasons, he has his, for the opinions we have. It's not a case of just me not accepting his point of view. It works both ways. He no more accepts what I say than the other way around. He's equally dismissive. It's just incredibly tiresome being accused of "not accepting his view". What's your view RaB?

look we have a different opinion, i'm not passing anything off as fact it's just my opinion. I didn't realise I had to write I think before everything i say, the fact i'm writing it probably suggests it's what i think. I just think (is that ok?) that too many people, not just you, have become weirdly obsessed with Redknapp to the point they go berzerk at every decision and some (not saying you) seem to want us to lose games so they can be proved right and get him sacked. I don't get the logic in that. I'm no fan of redknapp but i want QPR to do well regardless of who the manager is. Maybe thats the wrong way to look at it and I should look for a scapegoat but getting rid of one man won't fix all the problems at the club, the problems are far deeper than who picks the team. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I do think that dunne is dun in and to slow and needs a rest or be dropped. It is not all harrys fault. but i do think that when we clear out all the players we still paying stupid money to then maybe some of our younger players coming back from loans will be able to step up. i think harrys not the man to rebuild. if we dont go up then we can rebuild from the bottom maybe a younger manager like howe who i think is a very good manager. but i will be behind him and the team till the end of the season i am a qpr supporter and know we never do things the easy way.

You don't need to get facetious, Dave. Your first comment was. I agree with your second paragraph but I just feel you lump the people you're talking about in that paragraph with the people who want what you want but who would be much happier with Redknapp gone because they think he's hurting the club more than helping. It's not an obsession, it's not about wanting QPR to fail, it's not saying the only problem is Redknapp (far from it). It's simply holding opinion for which much reason has been put forward, that regarding Redknapp alone, he is doing a bad job for QPR in the short, medium and long term and harming our club. Results do not make the manager. You may not agree with that second group's position either. That's fine. But a) do us the honour of appreciating it is a reasoned position and b) do us the favour of not lumping us in with that group you're talking about below. Cheers.

good grief, Do I have to start each post by saying I shall do you the honour of appreciating your reasoned position? We're not in a court of law here. Redknapp hasn't done a bad job at QPR this season, He's reached par really with the playoffs neither good or bad and how we do in those playoffs will determine the kind of season it's been. Of course if we drop out of the playoffs he'll deserve all the stick that he would inevitably get but I think more win and we are pretty much secured. I'm not lumping anyone in together, I think your being a bit paranoid on that but do you really think there is an end to the season that will leave the majority fulfilled and satisfied? if we get promoted it will be woe is up we'll fail next year, if we lose in the playoffs it will be wild anger at not going into a league very few want to be in anyway and if we drop out of the playoffs it will be even more anger. I personally don't see a scenario where the majority (not everyone) are going to be happy with how the season ends and when you have that problem it doesn't really matter who the manager is, it's impossible to win.

Rumours of this, and perhaps with a cynical eye evidence of this on the pitch...if there's an impression i get of our manager and his staff is that they are lazy....i don't see that in the players, but i do see a lack of leadership other than Clint and Barton on the pitch....in my game it's often too late then! I was more surprised by the Wigan result than this....it bodes badly for the campaign or short term....it might mean more to be humiliated in the play offs than to go thru'.....this team and it's manager do not deserve to get to the final.....Sad but true! |

wasn't really suggesting that's why we haven't gone up yet this season but I do think building a team takes time and it's a big ask to do it in one season. With his experience and the players he brought in I think it's something that should be achieved in one year but if we fail then whoever the manager is next year has something to build on which could be hugely improved and turned into a title winning side much the same as what happened when Warnock was here before.

I just don't agree with the "it's impossible to win". I think QPR can win very easily, potentially by winning less - if the fans saw some long term strategy being put in place, some younger players being picked, less loans, I think they'd be a lot happier even if it meant we were midtable for a bit. The impression I get from fans is they're sick of what the club has become and are actually, often, jealous of clubs lower down than ourselves who have a plan and a strategy and know where they're going.

In the short term I think it is impossible to win this season. I agree showing a long term strategy from the start and maybe being mid table would be fine, i also envy the likes of Bournemouth for at least having a plan but we've got 5 games left and it would be pretty pointless to do it now. It's too late. I'd give a few kids the odd game before the season ends but it would still be a token effort to do it now. Only 3 ends to this season now, win in the playoffs, lose in the playoffs or not make the playoffs and as I say I don't think the majority will be happy with any of them outcomes. I'm not trying to take a higher ground here as I'm not particularly fussed how it ends either.

What you want is the club to be owned BY the fans and run FOR the fans. If the money men really want a West London Thunderdome with a football team for the tourists and a few fans rich enough for American style ticket prices then that's what they'll get, eventually. I think glory hunting with Wealdstone is becoming a very attractive option at the moment. The season ticket renewals need to reflect the boredom we've endured this year or Boreham Wood away is going to be my big day out next season.

Not done a bad job !!!!!! Dave he has made a fecking right old pigs ear of it why cant people understand that this league this year was the worst in championship history , forget the bollox about us being relegated he has had the backing but isn't motivated to go and scout players only interested in bringing in has beens at the start of the season he states that AJ & BZ would tear this league a new one we all know they are only fit for dog meat, he buys CA and that's it , why not go for Wells, Deeney, or Vaughan as well to get out this league you need at least 5 strikers, everyone knows it bar redcrap he then fecks off our best player in Adel he then sells a good squad player in Mackie , imagine him & Austin upfront his treatment of faurlin before he got injured was a disgrace so instead of buying a couple of strikers we get oneil, Kranjker, bennyoun who pretty much have done nothing we don't have any formation, no style of play, we lack speed, guts, determination that's all down to Arry , even when we did win it was boring & dull then Austin gets crocked so we loan out our best 2 young attackers but loan in the worst Strikers since priskin & bent, we haven't even touched the sides of last season yet the bloke has done more harm than good,
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

Conspiracy theories about him not caring and being some sort of evil villain are a lot more fun than the reality of this. I'm not saying he picked the right team at all tonight, i laughed when i saw it. I'd have played Zamora ahead of Keane and maybe given Donaldson a go at centre half although I'd be lying if I said i knew anything about him. The rest of the team I pretty much agreed with considering who was missing. It is a real mob mentality at QPR these days though, the majority on here will only be happy when they have the blood of the manager as if that will magically make the team and the club any better. It might work but would depend on who we replaced him with and judging by the clubs previous record I wouldn't fancy them to get it right, of the last 11 full time managers I'd say we've got the right man 3 times in warnock, de canio and Holloway. I've no confidence at all in them getting it right this time and think that is a far bigger problem we're going to face than what Redknapp does with the team in the next 5 games |

i have come to the conclusion that ANY change will bring impetus and a fighting chance of getting to wembley. once there anything can happen. we have, at this moment in time , no chance of promotion via the playoffs. even forest are now showing fight after a change, and derby are coming back to form. wigan , once they get the cup out of the way will brush us aside if we meet them. the playoffs are like cup football and they have plenty of experiance in this and an upwardly mobile manager. we have the courtney love of the groupie rock scene. .a tired old hag ., pimping himself out along with the other two old slappers with to much lippy on ..sticking out their arses on the touchline , with the stench of 'charlie ' in the air and dropping their draws to reveal unsightly flesh for the next kerb crawling football chairman crusing along in his revamped xjs and a wad of cash in his glove compartment. having said that mate, you are mostly , the voice of reason on here but not on this occasion imho [Post edited 9 Apr 2014 10:16]

Dave, we're not children. I thought calling him a "moron" was very reasonable given the circumstances of the last few months and last night. It's hardly a nasty, personal attack. A lot of people have said a lot worse....don't see you picking up on everyone of them. I also only called him that in the context of 3 possible reasons for that team selection and approach. There were other options - and I've actually since told you it is one of the other options which I believe to be the truth, and not that he's a moron. Regarding your second point. Just because it's what I want, doesn't mean I think it's going to happen. I want it to happen but doubt it will. I think it should happen but doubt it will. I repeat, to be clear, I don't expect it to happen. And your last statement is not "simple as that really". You seem to be unable to accept it might not be "simple as that really" for other people. Managers should be judged on a damn sight more than results. As I've said many times, in my opinion, if we go up it will be in spite of Redknapp, not because of him. Cause and Correlation are very different things. I think you're simplying things enormously and blurring the two.

Is anyone really surprised by the score tonight? on 10:13 - Apr 9 by Discodroid | i have come to the conclusion that ANY change will bring impetus and a fighting chance of getting to wembley. once there anything can happen. we have, at this moment in time , no chance of promotion via the playoffs. even forest are now showing fight after a change, and derby are coming back to form. wigan , once they get the cup out of the way will brush us aside if we meet them. the playoffs are like cup football and they have plenty of experiance in this and an upwardly mobile manager. we have the courtney love of the groupie rock scene. .a tired old hag ., pimping himself out along with the other two old slappers with to much lippy on ..sticking out their arses on the touchline , with the stench of 'charlie ' in the air and dropping their draws to reveal unsightly flesh for the next kerb crawling football chairman crusing along in his revamped xjs and a wad of cash in his glove compartment. having said that mate, you are mostly , the voice of reason on here but not on this occasion imho [Post edited 9 Apr 2014 10:16]

out of interest who would you bring in at this late stage who is available? Do we go with someone who can give a short term lift or someone for the future? Would be a big call to change it now.
