It would be nice to have him here, I'd rather Sir Les than Wally Downes.

Clint Hill needs to learn his trade with the youth teams, Furlong works with the youth teams/reserve team not the 1st team.

So yes there is room for him, I could definitely see 'arry bringing him in & I hope he does.

Apparently one of the sticking points was that WBA wouldn't let Sherwood bring in his own team.

Can't see him coming to HQ. Guy I know (Spurs fan) bumped in to him recently and they were chatting about what's been going on at WHL. Sir Les was slagging off 'Arry big time about always having no idea, never having a plan B.....

We do seem to have a lot of first team coaches, Bond, Jordan, Downes etc. Not quite sure exactly what Downes brings to the show, really. Would take Sir Les over him any day, but that doesn't sound likely from the above.

I thought Jordan would have more of an impact than he has done - perhaps it's all behind the scenes but it's Bond who covers for 'Arry in the post-match press conferences.

Do they break down the roles? Does anyone know how this works - is Jordan working with the defenders, Bond with the attackers, Downes with the cones - or do they operate together? We're going to need someone drilling and marshalling the defence in Pulis-style to get us through the season ahead ...

We should not fall into the trap we ave done in the past with players, and just signing them because we can.

We should be having a review of the coaching set-up and deciding if the current staff are appropriate for the Premier League, the way we wish to play, deveoop players etc as we will no doubt (hopefully) be doing with the players.

If we are deficient in an area we should look to remedy that clearly.

What we need to avoid is Championship manager syndrome which is great for short-term boost, but as we have seen not so good for the medium to long-term.

Poll: Will we stay up?
