Talking of bury, their home game v Bolton is now live on Sky on Monday 24th October.
Some of their lot thing they are going to get a load of money from Sky for the game, but I think the fee for a league game isn't that much.
Whatever they get will be quickly wiped out by all the extra police and stewards they need to employ to control their more lively fans*.
* It won't be their fault, whatever happens, as they will have been in Knowsley at the time
I'm pretty sure with this new tv deal (£360k per year for league 1 has increased to £612k) - that its just a one off payment per season and you get nothing extra for being chosen as a tv game. Its the F.A.Cup games where you get the individual money.
Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10
My Niece's husband works for Sky in the regional admin department. He says the breakdown is as follows..
L2 fixture...58k per team
L1...73k per team
Championship....90k per team..
Then there is a massive jump in figures for a prem game...near enough 200k...
Although Leicester won the league last season, they still earned less in prize money (finishing position,tv appearances etc )than the likes of Man utd, chelsea etc due to televised payments.
Also, the home team get a re-schedule fee which is set at £1,500 over all leagues.
Just reading today that George Moncur (a superb player) bought by Barnsley from Colchester for a rumoured 500k has gone on loan to Peterborough till Jan. Thats a terrific loan deal for them - I guess it would be the old wage issue preventing us from having an interest?
