My point is that virtually at the end of last nights Window, a bid hadn't been accepted by Leicester for Drinkwater yet we are late getting paperwork through, but Chelsea are able to broker a deal and get it signed off seemingly after the window had closed, or am I missing something cause that's how I'm reading it.

Feck me, over the last 12 months we've strengthened the team massively all over the pitch, shipped out huge amounts of dead wood, and on deadline day it's been capped off by securing a season loan of one of the hottest young talents in the world, yet people are still whinging about the board because we failed to get a backup right back from Barnsley that no one actually wanted a few days ago and who recently failed a medical at Huddersfield anyway...

I spoke to the same person who gave me the low down on the Gylfi deal the other day.
Basically Chelsea are quite clever at putting everything in place even well before the deadline, even if it falls apart, we did it once with kenwyn jones apparently but it was costly and fell apart. So they ID players and do all the paperwork regardless, which for registration purposes is lengthy and time consuming. Then they fill in the blanks and it's all ready to go. It's really a simple as that. He is convinced Llorente's papers would all have been filled in as much as possible as well. Even though he didn't sign. They have two solicitors and a commissioner of oaths available throughout the week leading up to deadline day to scrutinise everything. That aside most clubs employ legal administrators who specialise in this aspect of things as well, even employing them for a number of days either side of the window via agencies. Again I would ask do we have a full time legal PA or do we even employ them ad hoc for this type of of scenario, I would say not.
I can assure you we don't do as Chelsea do, well, as much as I have been told. We are getting better at it but our systems in place are prone to mismanagement as we have seen yet again. Everything is prone to human error granted, however it doesn't happen at the so called bigger clubs, and that's what separates us from them, clearly on the pitch and off it.
People have asked how Chelsea have managed this and Swansea didn't ?
