Could Swansea Bay learn from Brighton & Hove. It's been voted the most hip city with so may restaurants and things to do per population. Sea side city. With investment Swansea Bay region has so much potential

Dont know how many times Ive had a rant aboit this. The Swansea seafront desperately needs more cafes bars restaurants etc. It is criminally neglected as a source of tourism which could enormously improve the economy in the city.

Totally agree. Walking along the seafront beach area in Valencia when we played there, and it was full of restaurants and cafes , and i know the weather is very different there but look how busy verdis gets at most time of the year. Aberavon sea front would put our seafront to shame, it's really nice there.

Just very windy there though. Aberavon never really took off they built the Afon Lido in the 60s even had a largish amusement park but it could never compete with Porthcawl, Barry Island or the beautiful gower.

Brighton is a very liberal place, and they have a very cosmopolitan demographic composition. Swansea is a lot of things, but tolerant and diverse ? No amount of investment is going to change the character of the people who live here, unless it is by moving people out for more 'desirable' types.

And Carmarthen puts our City Centre to shame. We do have world class permanent road works though.

They have got some facilities along it like cafes and toilets and it's been nicely landscaped. If you need to go to the toilet along swansea beach you're best bet is to dig a hole with your spade. And the water is much cleaner up aberavon than it is down swansea beach have a look. And I'm from swansea.

And a traffic light collection the envy of the world.
If only they'd spend more money on lighting up the seafront, that would be a start. Then put in cafes / bars where you can walk to without being mowed down by a cyclist in the pitch dark.
This is not an anti-cyclist post by the way. Far from it.
