SSMC issued the claim in April 2017 and is seeking around £1.3 million in damages from the council and contractor Interserve Construction Ltd.
Swansea Stadium Management Company (SSMC) alleges that the £27 million stadium has defects, namely corrosion to exposed steel structural elements as a result of paint delamination, and a slippery surface on the concourse and mezzanine floor.

Obviously I don't have any of the latest information but, even during my brief time on the Trust Board, the issues with the steelwork were being discussed and were very much seen as a potential showstopper to any deal. From memory, there was talk of them being rectified by the Council prior to any sale but I could be wrong on that.
Not sure what changed but it seems odd to buy something knowing your first action as the buyer is to sue the seller over the condition of the thing you bought in the first place. |  | | |

Swansea Council managed to screw the maintenance of one of the most popular indoor venues in Wales so badly they basically had to rebuild it so this is little surprise. |  |

Swansea Council says part of the claim against it has already been struck out at the High Court. Some of the claim against Interserve Construction was also also struck out after being submitted too late.
