So you can't find the links then?

Come on Ian, surely it can't be that hard?

Is that seriously the best you can do, Boris? That's a bit sad tbh.

It's a pretty easy thing to do? You made the accusation that I post right wing political threads and used 2 threads which were quite the opposite as an example.

All I want you to do it back up your accusations with proof.

Can't be that hard can it?

Your original complaint was that lefties were spoiling the forum with all their none football posts. I pointed out that you had started two of the most recent top ten (i.e. you hypocrite.)

Your starmer thread was not a post in praise of Starmer but a dig at 'lazy teachers and unions')

('I see that's trending on Twitter because he wrote an article demanding that all kids need to be back in school next month ( which they do ) and the lazy teachers and union reps are kicking up a stink because they want even more time off on full pay.')

You Covid thread was an attempt to demonstrate that the Covid position was really good but ended: "These stats are fantastic news. No doubt that the usual suspects on here will be quick to jump on and paint more doom and gloom."

The man who complains that lefties start political threads and spoil a football forum, is doing the same thing, wouldn't you agree?

As for the charge that you are 'right wing'. Why are you even denying it? What are you so ashamed of.

We appear to be going round in circles. I have repeatedly asked for links that show I am posting right wing political threads and all you've come up with is one thread where I criticise a right wing government and another where I praise a left wing party leader and say I may well vote for him at the next election.

The fact I suggest I could vote Labour at the next election doesn't suggest I am 'right wing' does it? You do know people can disagree with extreme left wingers and not be 'right wing' don't you?

You're not as bright as you make out, are you? I think we'll leave it there.

As I said earlier, if you're not right wing, you are giving off all the wrong vibes.

And the fact that you characterise anyone who criticises this government or who argues for any sort of liberal value as extremely left-wing is by far the biggest give away. (Well, that and the BLM and 'Asians' stuff).

Yet it is ok for you to spout off your boring right wing ideology at every opportunity? So much for democracy. It is really not difficult Doris, if you don’t like someone’s posts, don’t read them. You told us you were having a break but within days you were back in here having a dig. You cannot help yourself can you? You even put me in your ignore list and spent days boasting about it before caving in because you need your fix. You would be lost without people to abuse. Typical playground bully mentality.

I avoided posting on the site for a long time due to the clear right wing bias many posters had. Fortunately now there is a bit more of a balance. If you just want right wing rhetoric why don’t you sign up with the Tommy Robinson crowd? You might find it does wonders for your blood pressure to spend more time amongst your own kind.

What's wrong with 'right wing bias'?
Why can't people have right wing views, it doesn't make them all nazis.
Let's face it,Stalin had a left wing bias, and he eradicated millions of his own people.

Because of the way many people with that kind of mentality behave on Internet forums. There are many examples here recently of the intolerance and abuse that they think it is ok to hurl around. I don’t mind different ideology (the world would be a very boring place if we all thought the same) but it’s the thugs that think for some reason spitting abuse is the same as reasoned debate. Social media is full of these people, most of whom were probably bullied at school or playground bullies themselves.

Is labelling people with differing political views to you as thugs a reasoned way of debating? I’m pretty sure none of the people you’re disagreeing with on this forum fit in that category, but you’re twisting their opinions to characterise them as that.

It’s all well and good saying you welcome differing opinions, but in reality you really don’t.

Perhaps you should read some of the comments then? There is a difference between discussing various political situations and verbally abusing someone. That is not debate, it is just mindless abuse. Would you walk up to a complete stranger and call them a c*** just because you didn’t like their politics? I call that thuggish behaviour.

You make a fair point, Ron. People on the right are not all Nazis and I agree that the crimes of the left are also underplayed (Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot etc).

So how do we judge whether someone is just holding mainstream right of centre views, or is a little more sinister?

I’d say two things. 1. When they absolutely cannot abide the other side’s view and immediately resort to name calling and aggression. 2. When they characterise anyone who is In any way to the left or holding ‘liberal’ views as of ‘the extreme left’. These tactics are as old as the hills.

This site used to but full of people doing both of these. Boris is the remaining ringleader.

I get incoming if I just say the sun is shining now I have become a target for some (not just me, anyone who spouts a liberal viewpoint).
There is a huge difference between disagreeing with someone’s point of view and explaining why and just basic abuse. On the various forums I visit those with a liberal or left of centre viewpoint seem more likely to engage in discussions whereas those of a more right wing perspective mostly just throw abuse about. The Tommy Robinson school of debating. I suppose it is much easier to call someone a bellend than defend this current government’s record so far 😉.

Yes, I am interested in talking politics. The Rule Britannia thing was all over the news and fits in with the whole slave issue that has been going on all summer so why not discuss it? It turns out that the BBC hadn’t banned it anyway so it turned out to be fake news, but it is still worth debating. It is not the “agenda” stuff per se, it is the way that anyone with a viewpoint left of centre is dealt with by certain posters.

Extremism seems to be the issue.
There are far right groups, I remember the likes of Nick Griffin etc who were just nazis, no other way to say it.
Then I was a member of an engineering union for a few years because it was the only way I could get a job. I had no choice. I worked at BP on the Isle Of Grain in Kent and only because I was forced to join the union or not be allowed to work there. They implemented many restrictive practices which helped to slow down the production process (and with it generation of income for BP and it's so called 'fat cats') but located overtime on a 'those who had been there the longest and/or were staunch union members' basis. What happened to that refinery? It was eventually closed mostly due to restrictive and obstructive action by the union/s. I took this mistrust of unions (many of them were extreme far left) with with me on to other places and jobs.
Now I see BLM. Anyone who fails to see that as a far left group hiding behind and using a reasonable cause purely to cause disruption to political progress in this country is blind. Even genuine Socialists seem to defend it no matter what.I have noticed their numbers on the street and also enthusiasm from the FA is falling rapidly as they realise what they might be letting themselves in for.
