Huddersfield facts, stats, cats, mats and horses
In an era of progression, technology and intelligencia we concentrate on the Yorkshire folk of football. When the first car was seen in Huddersfield they hung it like a monkey left hanging from a north eastern tree. The result was complete horror, for a bit, then the exhaust was removed and they had a big feast. Later the car was moved to a local museum yet to be built. Many people converse with very little words in Huddersfield, basically just nodding at each other saying “I know, I know” Simply explained they know everything. It’s a revelation indeed.

Proof if it were ever needed

Huddersfield has the third highest of number of listed buildings in the country. The population of Huddersfield borough is approximately 270,000 making it the largest town in England. The list was drawn up by Joseph Lister an infection control specialist and list professional. When this was revealed in 1978 the people of Huddersfield already knew this. Other notable things about Huddersfield is they had the worlds largest nodding dog, until all the locals kept nodding at it as it nodded back. Harold Wilson the pipe smoking nasal sounding tobacco head is from Huddersfield.

Or Cooper, who Martin said should feel aggrieved at not getting the nod today after his performance midweek.

He’s learning too - a great prospect. Martin is man managing him well.

Cullen has to do that as he cannot score whereas Whittaker can and has done.

We needed to put that game to bed and didn't again.

This won't be enough against better teams.

Cabango the "liability " did ok I thought .

Pateson again lightweight.

Still,it's a win

Sounds like RM is addressing you directly...

All to do with match fitness. It won’t take long to come either, he’s doing a fabulous job managing the players fitness from a standing start (no preseason and two weeks away from the training ground due to Covid).

Speaking of which , Downes must be as strong as an ox to go down with that and come out fighting the other end. What a geezer he truly is.

Some people moaned we were signing rejects, free transfers and sub standard players in their eyes. Well Ntcham and Downes look to be fantastic gains. Paterson looks better than many (including myself) expected and Laird looks more of a winger than wing back.

When we reach the kind of fitness Martin needs, when they have had more game time together we could be far better than any of us expected...or we could crash spectacularly but I'm still hoping for better. It's still early days and we all need to remember that.

A draw with Fulham and give Cardiff a good shoeing and we'll be flying!

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Always a gamble bringing in players with fitness issues but so far so good.
Downes for me has been pick of the bunch.
Paterson is a bit irritating in front of goal but otherwise showing promise.
IMO Ntchama and Laid lack pace. Laid does position himself as a winger more than wing back which I take is ordered from Marting but that leaves the defending part exposed.
In the second half, when we were sitting deeper, our lack of pace up front was exposed.

Dont disagree with the post, but i have noticed Laird cuts in 9 out of 10 times instaed of the flank.

Don’t forget Piroe , one million for a striker looking to exceed 20 goals this season easily (and stays free of injury). All of these players will increase drastically in Value, some fantastic business by the club.

Lowe and Hourihane have been well replaced.

Impossible to replace Ayew, an 80k a week player.

Overall some great recruitment has been done.

( missed the Arsenal goal typing that )

Totally agree.
Andy Scott' signings seem to be starting to show now. Hopefully he can take us where he took Brentford.
I think Martin's boys are Laird and Downes.
Mark Allen has brought in Ntcham.

Very good work by all involved.

As it should be. Club and manager working to bring in and get the best out of the players available, not club bringing in players and manager throwing a paddy because they weren't the exact ones he wanted.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Yeah. And I'm pretty sure the managers know full well that we have a solid, respected and experienced recruitment team here, who will be identifying most of the players, before they agree to sign for us. But who are also open for suggestions from the manager on who he wants too.

Arriola two more goals for DC united. I regard him and Morris as serious players who could have made a serious impact in the Championship. You have to be a decent play to get in the the US team. Goykeres was not the duffer presented on here either s he is proving every week. Coopers sniffy response to their signing marked his demise. Manning, Hamer are also showing their worth post Cooperball.

I have freeze framed the Cullen offside and he is level or at least mm offside. It should have stood. I do not know how to copy it on here. He needed that goal.

"SOME people" didn't really name names, they just moaned that the players we signed weren't good enough for any one of those reasons, they moaned we weren't spending enough and didn't Pikey yet again claim there was no money because the owners were milking the clubs funds?

The concerns about Walsh may yet be shown to be true mind. Time will tell.

Bradley Wright Phillips is a goal scoring icon in that league. I don’t respect the standard. Morris may have made an impact, far from a guarantee, but he was in his off seasons and already had an ACL injury to his name, it was hardly the most sensible of moves.

I wouldn’t take Gyokeres back, he’s had an excellent start to the season, but he didn’t fit into our side. I would be surprised if he keeps that up.

Yeah I am interested in who, I don’t remember seeing anyone moaning about the standard. Lots of myths on here recently so just curious the source of those complaints really.

Moaning we weren’t spending enough is something we get every year. That doesn’t necessarily mean they were complaining about the standard of the specific players we brought in.

To be fair to Cooper here we all know that most managers would have a paddy if the players they wanted weren't signed but players were signed that they didn't want. That is a stark staring fact, can you imagine Alex Fergusons repsonse if they'd refused to sign Ronaldo and forced A.N.Other on him?
