Same old England 17:11 - Dec 30 with 3023 views | trampie | Remember at the start of Covid England pinched millions of pounds worth of PPE Wales had ordered, well now there are stories that we have had to give them 4 million lateral flow tests, yet again Wales bailing out England, no wonder they don't want the union state breaking up, we are paying for HS2 railway and none of the track is going to be in Wales, they know when they are on to a good thing that lot.

Same old England on 21:44 - Dec 30 with 689 views | majorraglan | Very disappointing to see lots of squabbling on this thread. Our links with England go back a long way and are overwhelmingly positive. We’ve stood shoulder to shoulder with the English during many conflicts and we all have many friends from the other side of the Dyke. At the end of the day we are all British, there is no doubt in my mind some of the English aren’t very nice, but I can say the same thing about some Welsh people.. We may have a bunch of sleaze bags in charge in Westminster, but our links go further back than this crowd and if we can help it goes without saying we should help. Four million tests may be a drop in the ocean, but if it tides England over until the additional stocks arrive that’s great news. We just have to hope the Government aren’t fibbing (wouldn't surprise if they were) with their claims of additional supples arriving in the New Year. In terms of the Brexit vote, I work in a public facing role where I meet a huge cross section of society and I’ve been very surprised by the numbers of people who’ve moved in to South West Wakes from away, it’s much much higher than I’d imagined and it could easily have tipped the Welsh vote from remain to leave.

Same old England on 21:14 - Dec 30 by Kilkennyjack | I think born in England is pretty clear cut. Trampie is stating the facts. On such a small majority, just another 40,000 or so voting Remain in Cymru instead of Leave would have swung it to Remain. Tory England would still have dragged us out though. Wâš“ï¸S. |

Only another couple of thousand, less than a Swans late 1990's crowd voting No in the devolution referendum would have spared us the last 20 years of Cardiff centric, utterly incompetent Welsh Government.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Another lie killy the majority in the 2016 referendum was 1,260,000. You would have needed 630,000 leave voters to vote remain. While in the Welsh devolution the majority was less than 7,000. You keep asking for another EU referendum but are against giving the Welsh people the opportunity of another devolution referendum to give their verdict on 20 years of labour rule.

Don't forget all the Welsh people born in Wales who moved away to the rest of the UK to find work were denied a vote at all in the referendum. If they had been allowed to vote would clearly have swung the vote against devolution.

Yes I'm in that part of Wales myself and in my immediate vacinity I'm in a minority in being Welsh born, locals in neighbouring villages would still outnumber people that moved here from England but the people that have moved here from England in the last two decades is phenomenal.

Easily major, just as your last para says. With 650,000 English people living in Wales it doesn't take much imagination to conclude that they could very probably have made all the difference. As someone else said, just 40,000 going the other way would have changed the Wales result.
