Anti English Chants 13:32 - Jan 26 with 3489 views

Last night and other away games - A lot of them just don’t make logical sense!
Shouting, same old english always cheating when Downes got sent off to the ref and austin, do they not realise Downes is English?
Or other anti english chants, 90% of our team is english, including the manager who was born in Brighton.. Singing his name one minute then slating the english the next?
Or am i just thinking too logically about it?

Having grown up back and forth between Swansea and England I view myself as British, but I guess most Welsh people would class me as English when I visit.

Given that, the chants do not make me feel very welcome personally, but it is the nature of the game and as long as it does not spill over into genuine feeling then it is what it is.

When the old line gets trotted out of the English are Germans and the Welsh are Britons, it does seem to upset a lot of British wannabes.
Sticks and stones, it's only banter mun, perhaps the Celts are more used to taking jokes/banter, whilst those from England are not so used to being on the recieving end.

	Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

Id imagine I have done more Swans game home & away than 95% of those currently watching.

Ill stick to thinking the continuous anti English stuff is a bit embarrassing for a team who play in an English league.

It gives the games an extra edge, the away fans shell a hell of a lot of money to come here may as well give em a great atmosphere to bounce off and nothing works better than the tribal chants. Always get a good reaction when singing it’s coming home

If you’re offended by someone calling England sh** then perhaps watching football at home on the tele instead of going to games would be better for you?

This is how we are .
Happy to be able the likes of Liverpool,Man Utd, Arse,Newcastle etc yet biting the hand that feeds

We d rather play TNS then ,at least no English shyte to worry about. Innit.

It is a fact the majority of our team in recent years has been English and foreign. It bothers me not a jot.
It staggers to think we breed with non Celts and maybe Swansea fans really should quit the hypocrisy and campaign to leave the English pyramid ,along with the capital and Nieuport .

My son used to come with me as well as my wife. Both have said never again as they see it as nothing more than insulting. It is indefensible .

Anti Welsh chants are filthy porno racism and totally unacceptable. A well established criminal offence whether you like it or not. Its "racially aggravated disorderly conduct".

Acceptable at the low life blokey football world where songs about Jimmy Saville's activities are also heard. Songs about anything relating to people of colour are now thankfully detested by even the low life main stream.

The anti English chants are tepid in comparison. This thread reflects an Anglo bias and an "Uncle Tom" apologist culture. Wales's number one dart player gets filthy abuse in front of his family and Sky make no apology just turn the volume down.

"Do not complain about being treated like shit or you will be playing TNS". There is 50m of those people and they have great technology. What a bunch of wimps.
