Plymouth Argyle v Swansea City : Matchday Thread on 21:30 - Jul 12 with 1987 views | jasper_T | The worry will be how little we created against a side that was largely kids for much of that second half. Ntcham and Paterson each had a go from distance, and only Ntcham's was threatening. Ogbeta's late cross well-defended. Not much else. They could sit in a pretty standard block and watch us go nowhere. Much better first half despite the reliance on Latibeaudiere's creativity and the gap left in behind him that Miller(?) was exploiting so well.

Pre season friendlies are just that, a stepping stone to the start of the season. Win, lose or draw its nothing more. End the game with a different team to the start and it is what it is.

Fortunately his team mates couldn't, or we would have lost. Piroe looked a class above, Darling looks the part and I liked Ogbeta. I know it's only a preseason, but atm nothing suggests more than mid table I'm afraid.

Plymouth showed up our defensive frailties in both halves. Some new faces who will take time to gel. Thank goodness we have Naughton and Cabango. Hopefully Allen will sort out the midfield. [Post edited 12 Jul 2022 23:34]

We had a 17 year old central midfielder playing RCB, and a striker at RWB.

Exactly. About 20 changes between the two sides. Cannot draw any conclusions from it. That said, Darling oozed class and will be playing EPL next season

Let's not kid ourselves about this team, apart from the two strikers we have the rest are pretty average at this level. The only exciting signing is Darling at the moment, We need some serious additions down the flanks and attack midfielder with set piece expertise.

As Martin said last night, we are actively looking for a right wing back. When the league starts, we won't be changing the entire back 3 during one game!! Last night was a case of getting as many players on during the 90 minutes to build up their fitness and match sharpness. As stated, it was a friendly!

No need for a question mark. I did not. That said I did have text comm on whilst we watched telly. Our defending ,according to the score and Keith's comment indicate what we suffered from last season. Firgive me but I really cannot find the enthusiasm for this season and when the Trolls get into top gear this might really be my last. Martin has simply strangled me and I am fearful for thr future. If you, lifey, winston et al want to gorge on that then fine Ray,it'll be a long dark winter. Times like These

I kept popping in to check the text and indeed Keith's comments. We have a very big TV and a large kitchen space that open out into the rear garden. Pop along when we play Tranmere next

Plymouth Argyle v Swansea City : Matchday Thread on 09:43 - Jul 13 with 950 views | TenbySwan | I am no doom and gloom merchant but the defending for their equaliser was pathetic. People can say it was a friendly, and that there were youngsters on.the pitch but you do need a modicum of shape to your team and that is down to the manager. We gave away so many last minute goals last season and for me it was very disappointing to do the same last night. Friendly or not.

Defending is what killed us last year. Forget this "its just a friendly" by now, Russ should,by now, have ensured we are able to cloe out games properly and that won't happen until we defend. All his talk is cheap . Forest Green ffs also managed to score twice. If we were splattering teams in friendlies ,people would be rejoicing, wheras now they are merely doing what we are all really doing and that is hoping. You can put on the positive flap you like on this forum but Plymouth scored a last minute equaliser. Not unknown is it. Right now... We should be urgently looking for a goalkeeper ,already given the club captaincy to Joe and realised that passing stats do not a game win. Be honest And Im popping out for a while so leave your hate posts and then I 'll get back to you.
