You can get anyone to say anything, but at the end of the day we are out, and there's no going back. So using your words suck it up fella👍

I didn’t get anyone to say anything though. It’s an academic study from Oxford University. You can expect it to be fact based, peer reviewed, etc You are correct of course about being out. I think you might find that once 10 years passes, 2026, then Labour will move ever closer to a soft Brexit with significant alignment. In the meantime yes i will suck it up …. 🤣

Crown Estate latest on 21:21 - Apr 1 by Kilkennyjack | Argue with this fella not me …. Professor Dorling at Oxford University Study Concluded: “The Welsh did not want to quit the EU, but that is one of many false beliefs about Brexit." Retired 🏴 people moving across the border.. Was in the Sunday Times but now behid pay wall. Wales would not have voted by a majority for Brexit if not for retired English people moving across the border, according to research by Oxford University. This was despite a pro-Leave vote in the valleys of the south-east of Wales, according to Danny Dorling, professor of geography at Oxford. “Wales was made to look like a Brexit-supporting nation by its English settlers,” Research at Oxford most probably is fact based …..see …… [Post edited 1 Apr 21:23]

Unless they contacted EVERY rperson in Wales who voted they cannot possibly state that as a fact. Do you think they contacted all of the 250k plus English people in Wales? Danny Dorling is a bit Jeremy Corbyn fan, just saying.

No …. only an idiot would think that. Its almost certainly a representative sample that has then been extrapolated via some clever modelling methodology/tech. Then peer reviewed and published. Are you suggesting that the esteemed scholars at Oxford University are making things up ? You dont like the findings, fine .. but you have no idea if they are correct or not. Repeat after me …. ‘They found that English retirees voted Wales out of the EU in 2016’…. And thats true.

I know you are an expert on many things but this is not one of them, Google says ….. ‘It is the same with medicine. A blood test takes a tiny portion of your blood, yet those few drops are sufficient. Medical staff never say ‘we’ll take double the usual amount of blood today so that we can be really sure about the results.’ Which is why, just as you don’t worry about how little blood has been taken from you to test, you shouldn’t worry about a poll ‘only’ sampling 1,000 people. There’s plenty more that needs to be got right when doing a poll. But when done right, that is indeed enough to measure the views of the country.’ Also … Pioneering pollster George Gallup had a simple, powerful analogy. Imagine you have a bowl of soup in front of you. How much of the soup do you need to taste before you are confident what the whole bowl will taste like? Very little. Less than one complete spoonful, even. Sure, you need to swirl around the soup, especially if it has pieces in it (the soup equivalent of random sampling). But then you can take just a tiny amount of soup and make a confident prediction about the taste of the whole bowl. But sure …. If you dont like the results scream at the pollster ….. 🤣🤣🏴

With respect Yes Cymru are seen as a joke of an organisation, you can dress it up anyway you like, but at the end of the day you and I will never see an independent Wales in our lifetime. Thank God! 25 years of utter failure tells us that

Correct or not? That's the point, their findings are extrapolated from a core number of voters so therefore cannot be accurate. It's little more than an opinion based on a small amount of evidence. Remember when all these experts said the UK would vote remain and they were certain. These people are often wrong. Danny Dorling also said "we left the EU because of Hampshire" and when you say esteemed scholars....Danny Dorling who is strongly pro EU by the way.

The EU has 20% tarrifs imposed on it. The UK only 10% and Brexit benefit. Just shows how undemocratic the EU is. It is a protectionist cartel that is against free trade with the rest if the World. I doubt labour will be in power in 10 years, given had much damage they have done to the economy and businesses after only 9 months in power.

The US has a trade surplus in goods with the UK of $11.9bn compared with imports of $68.1bn and US exports to the UK of $79.9bn. So 10% is not justified at all. Dont be a Trump patsy and celebrate bad news. the European Union exported €503.8 billion in goods to the United States in 2023 and imported €347.2bn — yielding a trade surplus of €156.6bn. So thats why they got 20%. A different situation. Trump is guessing stuff, he is economically illiterate. Also once you allow Trump to play games the uk 10% could move to 40% for no reason. Nothing to celebrate at all. [Post edited 5 Apr 9:18]
