Slightly surprised that Real Madrid have signed him. Signing him on a free reduces their exposure should the move not work out but the contract length will be interesting.
I assume that Real have a cunning plan to utilise his outstanding vision and passing ability whilst keeping his defensive duties to a minimum.
Except for Pepe, who like Sergio Ramos had that mongrel competitiveness that Trent doesn’t. Still, he’ll win a lot of games 6-2 and no one will mind too much.
Pepe was a Centre Back not a Full Back (as is Sergio Ramos). Their tenacity was necessary to make up for the lack of defensive cover provided by the wing backs.
