Confidence. Hung out to dry here, backed to the hilt there. It's massively overlooked as a factor in player performance.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Benda, Hamer and Fisher all struggled with Martin's insistence to play this type of game. You'd think that somewhere along the line, Martin would have realised that it was not them necessarily that were the problem.

We did manage to quash the story Martin was responsible for the plague of 2020. Seriously, we really do need to move on. There are still people out there who believe he did the same to Whittaker despite his form thereafter, and Obafemi. Didn’t seem to concern the better players though like Downes and Ntcham at the time though, and Piroe.

I don't know if we can discuss where we as a club have gone wrong over the last four or five seasons, plus the performances of certain players during and after their time here without bringing the quality of coaching into it, and Russll Martin is a big figure in that. I stand by every syllable of criticism I gave him over his handling of Whittaker for example. Ntcham is another because it took the best part of two years before Martin gave him a consistent run in his best position and he almost immediately looked twice the player. He does deserve and will continue to receive a considerable amount of the blame for our performances during the two seasons he was here, plus the obvious influence of his methods that we've seen in one of his successors.

We can always discuss anything on here. With competent posts. Overall Martin didn’t succeed, agreed. But to think Whittaker wasn’t the master of his own downfall when we have reported the actual circumstances and his behaviour with no legal redress nor correction from any source is a bit much.

I can ask the question why a non-Winger was so consistently played out of position game after game and given barely ten minutes here or there at that when we spent much of that year watching Liam Cullen getting opportunity after opportunity ahead of him instead. Whittaker may well have developed a bit of an attitude problem after that. Can't say I blame him if he did.

No professional player should be making gestures behind people’s backs. He is a spoilt brat as is now being seen again at Middlesbrough.

Hopefully someone will read it and make us an offer. I still think he's crap, when you let a shot trickle between your legs there is nobody to blame apart from the keeper. The odd mistake you can excuse but the to do it constantly is inexcusable. When one of the best keeper coaches in the country writes you off you have to respect it.

The respected coach of keepers did bring in Nathan Broome which was a bizarre signing. No sure if he actually plays at all..
