My mates lad 18:50 - Apr 16 with 1957 views | builthjack | He is going places. Captain of the Swans U17s now. A great prospect. Perry is the name. Keep an eye on him.

No. Fish’s lad was there for many years, but very fine lines between making it or not. He is good at football and rugby, as was Fish. [Post edited 19 Apr 23:17]

Good luck to the lad but a word of caution….. My mates lad was captain of the Swans through all age levels until he got to 18 & got released. He went to Cheltenham & basically fell out of love with playing football. A lovely lad whose parents sacrificed many hours hoping he’d make it but he didn’t. I won’t mention his name but those who know the youth team a few years will know who I am on about. Successful in what he does now away from football.

The cruel truth about football is they love you until they throw you out and they will in the end. Whether you are 12, 16, 20 or 35 sooner or later you will be released, just enjoy the ride.

I have a family member who was with the Club since he was 8 then released at around 14 so not quite as prolific as the OPs subject but I mention it because as others have posted many players go through the academy system right until you think finally after all that commitment the rewards are awaiting but only to be released .Good luck to the lad and hopefully he'll ske it but if not with the Club then elsewhere at what ever level to be at will be.
