Nearly one third (29%) of children in Wales live in poverty 09:22 - Apr 29 with 772 views | Whiterockin | NHS Wales spends £1 out of every £10 they have on diabetes, for instance, yet "most Type 2 diabetes cases are preventable" with healthy eating and exercise. Never mind we are 2nd in the World for recycling. We really need a Welsh government that will prioritise the Welsh people. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c511344v959o

Child poverty is an issue across the UK, but according to the figures for 21/22 it’s lower in Wales than England 28% v 31% across the border, that said both figures are completely unacceptable because lots of the families in poverty are working families. The comments about the extra 36 AM’s are door on, we don’t need them. Eluned Morgan needs to wake up, read the room and smell the coffee. Ideally, she’d go away and take Getjing and Drakers plus a quite a fee more with her.

The point would be that the Senedd need to do something that works and while they get it right sometimes how they plan and implement things is all too often very poor. The 20mph, the NHS changes where they ditched A&E's....well there's quite a list so I'll stop there. It's about being as good as we can be and Wales deserves better, the Uk deserves better. Any child poverty in a21st Century apparently first world country is deplorable, even more so when the heads of privatised companies are taking millions home even though they have done a rubbish job AND government waste is so high that is beyond laughable. When Kilkenny moans about Westminster he's right but it doesn't mean we can't moan about the Senedd too.

You have to look past their words and see their actions, too many people vote blindly (or not at all) and too many hear what they say and fall for it. We dont just need actions, we need the right actions. Doing something silly because you have a "mandate" doesn't cut it.

We do. We drastically need a change in the Senedd. That may be a different party or a revamped party but we need someone to actually say " this hasn't worked as well as it could, there needs to be change". It's an open goal for Plaid to take over but they would need to change as much as Labour because they support the speed limit and and obviously support an increase in members. If they came out and changed a few policies and parked the independence idea for at least to Senedd cycles I'd even consider joining up. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Well the independence thing, they need to win a vote for that and they won't be allowed one in the near future. The speed limit it here now and the members rising is happening so I'm looking past that and giving them a chance because, quite literally, what other choice do I have, reform, the tories....no thanks.

The Scottish and North Irish governments have more members and there will be 8 less MPs in Westminster. They argue there is extra work to do. I do not like the new election system of voting for parties not individual MPs. I leaned of that on here actually. Individual MPs can avoid responsibility for their own actions. Welsh committees do not work well .

Nearly one third (29%) of children in Wales live in poverty on 14:20 - Apr 30 with 263 views | ReslovenSwan1 | We a democracy and it is up to us all to select the best people that fit your values and are competent. Poverty is defined as follows. *"In the UK, poverty is generally defined using relative income poverty, where households with incomes below 60% of the median UK income are considered to be in poverty." Some people will use such figures and argue for the "eradication" of poverty in disgust. It is and always will be impossible of course because it is a ratio. There is also for me an issue about whether " poverty ' is actually bad for you or character building. These are not popular thoughts of course. I was brought up in poverty I suspect. A dose of hard work on the grandads farm. No insulation in the house in the he Brecon Beacons. No spare cash. We always ate healthy food from the back garden. Work is good for everyone. I am surprised how cheap healthy food is in Lidl. Historically low. Healthy sardines for 25p. The data on health is more important than relative poverty. Cut diabetes drug abuse anti social behaviour mental health. I am sure mental heath issues are related to c substance abuse. I would like to see severe sentencing for drug dealers including physical labouring.

My approach has always been to look for the best qualified candidate, in the future any idiot can become a member of the Senedd as long as their party likes them. It undermines one of the founding principles of democracy that people can elect someone to represent them. It is an insult to the voters.

Yes I agree and it was a big disappointment to read about this. It is dumbing down suggesting the vote does not ready discriminate between individual candidates and just puts a cross on the party. It supports the idea that the votes are weighed in Wales to save a time.

My only agenda is that the Senedd stays. I others wise accept the will on the voter. Brexit was a disaster but I accepted the results and the consequences for Welsh people. All the bloke in the petrol station are now male Asians instead of mixed young Europeans of 10 years ago .

Planting trees on Uganda is a good use of my taxes ? or providing another charity over 3 million for what ,(sustrans), hif they cared about the people of Wales how about them spending the money they do get more wisely so far they've proven to be incapable of running a back water council let alone a country.

This nonsense again, what is surely beyond doubt that NO, it's not just Wales, many countries across the world have inept, negligent and useless governments. The proper funding thing, Wales gets more per head than any part of England except London so the English might feel agrieved at your suggestion we should get more. The Senedd care about Wales? I have a bridge to sell you. Enfys hospitals, sending people from hospital to nursing homes without tests killing far too many, Wales voted for Brexit, the crown estate i and HS2 I'll cede the point but there are so many damaging Senedd decisions too like planting trees in Africa when Wales is short of money. Westminster being poor doesn't give the Senedd a free pass.
