Discussions over former players 10:40 - May 11 with 737 views | onehunglow | Been following a thread on Phil site about Grimes Obviously some contentious comments but is it worth harking back to Is this something that is a past of being a fan of a club and indeed a sports fan Some rated Groms highly I thought he was right up there The most overated ever ? Hmm Tempus fugit

We have had many players over the years who have split opinions, two currently are Fulton and Cullen. Wasn't it you who thought that Vipotnik was the best thing since sliced bread.

Possible but doubtful I don't like sliced bread It's very overated a phrase and there used to be to be a bakery in Manor Rd where they offered to slice your loaf My nan always refused for them to butcher the loaf Back on track, your right and we all think we are I thought VIP would show he could be the man but I'm doubtful now . It shows how the game makes mugs out of us all and we are plain stupid to break friendships over it I have and it's very regretful And Zi never mentioned Grimes's Amish Beard

He had a lot of influence, he was respected but he had gone stale here, he was too cautious. In my opinion a move was in his and our best interests.

Grimes is a capable footballer, what he's asked to do he does very well. In a very slow possession based team he'll look like the best thing since Pirlo, but for us he became part of the problem which became even more evident under Martin and Williams regime. I have no issue with players like him sitting in the pocket, breaking up possession and offloading to other players l, very much like Britton and Allen have done for us. But when pretty much everything tried to go through him it slowed us down considerably, I'm not sure if that's instruction or him feeling more responsible as Captain but either way many. (Myself included) grew even more frustrated with him as every game passed and glad he moved on for a new challenge. I said it before and will say it again, I have no issues with him as a humans and thought he led the club admirably as captain so wish him well with no malice, but I do feel we are and will be better off without him holding us back.
