Spot on there Nov77. The track "It Was A Very Good Year" I can totally relate to being the age that I am!
RIP Frank Sinatra…. on 13:13 - May 15 with 459 views | Jules4367 | Sadly, the names and voices to which you refer, which are on LPs , EPs and 78s will all be consigned to council recycling depots. My late mum has a number of such Greco, Laine, Torme, Sinatra, Bennett, Fitzgerald, Proby, Trenet, etc., all with songs and tunes that, sooner or later, no one will ever listen to again! As I say, sad! RIP Frank but, equally, lots of respect to Dean, his act and how he fooled all with his regular on stage glass of apple juice!
RIP Frank Sinatra…. on 13:46 - May 15 with 427 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | Ah, yes Old Bue Eyes himself. Adulterer, mob ties, violent, accused of rape and general nasty piece of work. A bit of an old fashioned P Diddy. Love his music though, Sinatra not P Diddy.

I'm sure he loved his mother though.

RIP Frank Sinatra…. on 16:26 - May 15 with 273 views | rbee | In my opinion Frank's recording career consisted of three parts. In the beginning he was with Columbia Records where he became a star. The recordings were good obviously but I think a little safe. In the early 50's he moved to Capitol Records which is where the fun really started. Frank worked with arranger and conductor Nelson Riddle who was in my opinion a genius. Frank's Capitol Recordings had more energy and pizzaz. Frank moved to Reprise Records in the early sixties and his recordings there were heavily orchestrated and lacked the sparkle of his work at Capitol. I love The Great American Songbook but don't listen these days. For the life of me I can't understand why people would listen to the likes of Robbie Williams and Rod Stewart singing these great songs. You listen to Frank or Ella. As a member of the Loft For Words insomnia club I might just listen to Frank at three in the morning soon, his Capitol Recordings of course.
