Peace talks happening in Istanbul in an attempt to stop the evil Russian aggression in Ukraine. Putin was the one who first called for “direct talks without pre conditions”. Zelensky is attending but in a bizarre turn of events Putin has sent his deputy instead. American President Trump has thrown his hat in the ring and said he will also attend if Putin does so.

Why is Putin refusing to attend when it was he who first proposed these talks? What is he scared of?

If the guns come out we have all failed. Even Churchill said that ‘jaw, jaw is better than war, war’ …. And he was right. You always end up talking in the end, may as well do it first as last and try to avoid human suffering. Trump is a draft dodger, but Putin has more about him. Difficult guy to deal with clearly.

Well yes, war is insanity but there are times like with Hitler, and now Putin when it can't be avoided.

The strong will always try to bully the weak, in the case of politicians they will happily send young people to die to further their aims. At least Churchill knew what war was about, right person at the right time. When it happens and can't be avoided, who would dodge the call?

In my opinion, Putin is more likely to be the assassin stabbing you in the back than the one facing you with a rifle.
None of us really know how brave we are until that certain circunstance arises.
