I think of those old flats and the old Fowler pub every time i go over the Clase.
Go over most days as family still live there.
Saw a dog getting attacked by a pack of dogs on Clase roundabout early 80s.
A big fella came out of the flats on his own in boots, trousers, with a vest on and just booted all the dogs away from the one and saved the dogs life. He just turned around and walked back to the flats. Zero fuss.
If he had fallen over i reckon he would have been dead.
I am still amazed he did it with no sticks, no nothing.

The decline in jobs has resulted in pound shops, barber shops, closed pubs, and charity shops.
The churches are looking a pale shadow of their former imposing look.
