Out in middle east apparently, just been texting my mate who played at Neath with him he texted him last night to ask about his daughters swimming and how she was doing, she's a decent swimmer.

He went to work in Abu Dhabi in 2005, and has lived there ever since.

His autobiography, ‘Fighting to Speak – Rugby Rage & Redemption’, is one hell of a read.

RIP Mark.

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

He was renovating a house up in the Neath Valley recently, he did well out of his book and public speaking, never afraid of hard graft was Mark.

Brutal on the field a shy and gentle giant off it.

RIP Mark Jones, best wishes to his family.

So sad to read this.

A tough as they come rugby warrior who never took a step back.
Epitomised Neath rugby.

Feared and admired in equal measure.
15 welsh caps to his name.

Far far too young, RIP Mark

Very sad news indeed. Tough guy on the pitch but gentle and good fun off it. Doted on his kids and no doubt they’ll be broken hearted.
RIP Mark

Sh*t

RIP mark.

Ever since my son was... never conceived, because I've never had consensual sex without money involved... I've always kind of looked at you as... a thing, that I could live next to... in accordance with state laws.

I was both shocked and gutted yesterday when reading about Mark.

I agree with everything that's been said about him on this thread.

Although not born in Neath, he made Neath his home for a number of years and used to drink in my local pub, the Green Dragon, where he was a very popular character indeed.

As posters have said, he was a skilful monster on the field, but a most likeable man socially.

Not only did he represent Wales in Rugby Union, but also in Rugby League too, where he was equally respected. Passing at only 59 is a most untimely age to leave his family.

I wish nothing but the best for his family and friends.

RIP Mark.
