I personally would like the club to take a look at this lad called Diogo Nascimento. He would probably be worth around 1.5 million and although the 2nd division in Portugal is perhaps not known for its wonderkids this lad has won 5 player of the month awards in a row and could work well with a 2 in midfield with him and Varane? Very good dribbler and quick on the ball making passes.
If you want a DM to sit, break up play, pass the ball on top others who can do something with it and who may week give you resale value in future then go to Forest and make them an offer for Jamie McDonnell. If they won't sell take him on loan.
21, tackles like it's the 1970's and doesn't try to over play. We had him at Colchester last season and he was out best loan signing in years. Won Young Player of the Season, could easily have been the outright Player of the Season and we'd love him back but he's far too good for L2.

I agree but I think we need an attacking DM along with Varane and Field maybe a midfield 3?
My argument against signing a player from the Portuguese second division would be that Hevertton was playing in the Portuguese top flight. Looks a lovely player on VT, just like Sammy Koejoe once did.
Lewis O'Brien would be the absolute dream though never going to happen.

Agreed very low on the list particularly as I think Morgan has a good chance of being that attacking midfield player and he deserves the chance.

We now know for certain that Paal is going. Dunne and Fox are also out of contract. Edwards and Ashby were only here on loan. So we have, probably, major gaps in the defence. LB may be OK with Larkeche, Esquardinha and Vale but the rest of the defence looks short of numbrers, availability and quality.
That has to be the priority. Midfield seems well stocked, although getting the balance right will be a headache for any Head Coach. Up top we may be OK, provided we don't get another injury epidemic.
