Sadly passed away.
Loved that programme especially the earlier series.

Radar, Hot lips Houlihan, Hawkeye, Klinger......what a show. Even mentioned QPR in one episode!!

Watching stuff like M*A*S*H as a youngster was education and entertainment. Another show was SOAP which was also so good.

Sad news. Love MASH.

I was a little young to appreciate it first time around. It’s shown in bulk on rotation early evenings on a Freeview channel. I regularly dip in, including yesterday before this sad news broke.

RIP Hotlips.

MASH was the first television show that I can remember questioning the glorification of war.

I don’t know about that. Sergeant Bilko didn’t treat the military with much respect.

Sorry MrSheen,

I'd forgotten all about Phil Silvers & Sergeant Bilko.

Top Cat was based on the Bilko show and, in between Bilko and M.A.S.H. there was Hogan's Heroes with 'I knooww nothing" - Schulz

Always remember the episode where Henry Blake goes home and then at the end Radar walks into the operating theatre and announces Henry's plane has been shot down - a real lump in the throat moment.

The final episode of MASH in 1983 pulled in 106 million viewers in the USA alone. And with that being before recording and streaming etc, means that they all basically sat down at the same time to watch it at home.

The entire population of the country was 233m at that time.
