Has the Beeb just cost taxpayers 5million euros? 12:38 - May 31 with 549 viewstrampie

The beeb has just lost a court case to Gerry Adams (Irish politician) that apparently is going to cost millions and millions, I don't like Gerry Adams, some hardliners Republicans don't even like him leave alone the otherside, although obviously he does have his supporters, but people need to think twice about taking him on as he always seems to have the answers.

Beeb should not report rumours, beeb should be able back everything up.
Apparently the show has a very good name and is highly regarded, beeb should have settled with Adams once he took them on because they should have realised they would not be able prove it and now I assume its the taxpayer that is going to pick up the bill.

Sorry to interrupt your one man monologue but what jurisdiction does an Irish court have over the British Broadcasting Corporation?

Tell them to get stuffed.

I can only imagine the uproar if a British court tried to hold an Irish broadcaster to account.

Defamation court cases can be brought to trial in any jurisdiction where the content is available.
