There's rumours flying around that Palace have offered Watford £8 million for Baah. According to the Watford Observer back in 2021 when Watford signed him we were given a compensation package of around £100,000 with a sell on clause also agreed. Baah signed a five year deal with Watford back in October 2024 so it seems inevitable he'll move for decent money at some point. Yes, I'm pretty sure it can be done and has been in the past. It's not unusual. A sell on clause is inserted at the time of the transfer and if the selling club becomes strapped for cash negotiations take place between both clubs and a sum is paid to buy out the sell on clause ( a nominal amount in favour of the buying club). I think our club was rumoured to have done it in the past but can't remember any details, maybe Ricky Lamberts transfer but that's just a guess. [Post edited 4 Jun 7:36]

Seems like some Watford fans think £8m is a low-ball offer for Baah who is contracted to Watford until 2029... The Watford owner is selling sister club Udinese to some Americans for £150m so there is little cash-pressure to sell Baah at the moment...will Palace step up their offer if in fact they have actually submitted one...? Time will tell, but he does suit Glastner's style, big lads, pace and a trick or two.... |  | | |

I saw him play at Elland Road towards the end of last year, and he looked quality. Quick, strong, tricky etc and he got a goal if memory serves me correctly.
He stood out in a decent Watford side and given the money around at the top of the game £8 million would be a snip for Palace. | |

There has only ever been one transfer in football history where the sell on clause has broken through the 40% barrier and that was Tino Livramento who went from Soton to Newcastle for £32m and Chelsea received £!5m.
Next on the list, KDB Wolfsburg to City for £55m and Chelsea received £10m. Equates to 18%. | | | |
