Where has the traditional English Centre Forward gone? 21:34 - Jun 15 with 1009 viewsgrumpy

I have just suffered watching the U21 trying to walk the ball into the net.
I know I'm old fashioned, but I miss that big presence in the middle.
This is not a cue to mention Tall Paul.

Some managers like RM or Lee Carsley might think a centre forward is old fashioned, but thankfully most still don't. For the average team, playing against poor opposition, a proper striker can make the difference between winning or not - and that's what happened to a bang average team (England U21) yesterday.

I blame Martin Chivers and his foppish backwards knock downs.

the last real centre forwards Saints had were Pelle (spelling corrected) and Lambert. The lack since then has shown

I'm asuming you meant Pelle
Although Pele did play (some would say) for us at left (or was it right) back
