Went there as 1st pub of my ST renewal pub crawl.
Only 1 ale - Oxford Gold but it was fine. Not the greatest selection of beers, but lovely scotch egg and chips. Nice atmosphere, quite full for lunchtime. Really good jazzy & bluesy music on sound system. Even a piano(!). I played a few things but an American bloke told me I was playing all the wrong notes.
Rest of crawl - worst ever. Askew no ale, Andover closed,Thatched only duff Pride, Prisoner of War, 4 ales, all of which I had to take back. Hammersmith Belle, previous posters were correct, hell on earth.
Spoons came to the rescue.

Saved by a 'spoons. I want to give you a hug for trying. You deserve better.

Ironically, my local rugby team, who won promotion to the second tier of French rugby last season, are holding a ST holders event at a local winery. Where we can renew with 10% off and sample accordingly. It's been designated a Mrs PH driving night.

Reminds me of that classic Milton Jones joke: Incredible to think isn’t it, that every single Scotsman, started off as a scotch egg. Old and gingery.
